The mineral springs and trails are open to the public during the daytime. We also host with WWOOF, we have many cultural exchange volunteers helping us bring life back to this historic land building an organic farm and sustainable inclusive community. The campground is your to book but is also surrounded by National Forest Land which belongs to everyone. We expect zero exceptions to the leave no trace standards we have put forward for our private land share. Fall asleep stargazing under a dark sky, surrounded by trees, water and wildlife. Wake up to birds chirping then a 10 min hike to visit the Cold mineral springs bubbling out of the mountainside, attracting many types of wildlife along with people seeking out the healing properties of the sulfur scented spring water. Sacred healing mineral spring "Deadshot" named by the native peoples for its ability to cure all ailments with 'one shot'. Nipisum or 'health water' was later bottled by the California Medicinal Springs Co. after the land was homesteaded in 1886. This historic retreat rests at the foot of lower Chanchelulla 'black rock' Mountain. Bordering a Wilderness Area this land is pristine and wild inhabited by many animals and incredible bio-diversity such as Pileated Woodpeckers, Golden Eagle, Bald Eagle, Blackhawk, Goshawk, Great Horned Owl, Flying Squirrel, Pacific King Snake, Salamanders and Protected Spawning Rainbow Trout. 100+ acres with private hiking trails along the stream for easy trekking, and summit trails (climbing up to almost 6,000 ft.) to the peak. Our aim is to restore the land from the last 100 years of habitation using innovation to renovate the campground and baths for the next 100 years. With your help we hope to revitalize the community of Trinity County, as well as educate and generate support for WILDERNESS, public forest lands and the agencies that manage them.

Wilderness Resort Exclusive Retreat

Perfect remote spot for group

What an amazing experience! Trinity Outpost was the perfect spot for our multi-day camping trip with 25 high schoolers. We reserved the full campground, and our group loved the freedom to explore the area and get comfortable. The site is (and feels) totally remote, and yet the small amenities (two flush toilets, a sink/dishwashing station, potable water, grills, fire pits, picnic tables) helped to make the trip easy for our group. Our students loved hiking around the area (including some very adventurous off-trail hiking), playing around in the creek, and stargazing at night. Carrie was incredibly accommodating. We hope to come back!

It's a very secluded place that is perfect for people who's looking for serenity, peaceful, privacy and love the nature. No shower but the stream with fresh water will serve you well. There is a very clean toilet area. It's a paradise for me and my husband. Our dogs loved it too!

Magical

Beautiful place, great campsites. National forest trails and challenging wilderness nearby. Mineral springs and creek are must-see (and smell). Many unexpected and diverse biomes, natural springs, interesting rocks and plants. Very accommodating hosts.

We had a fantastic experience at this campsite. The site was pristine, with a serene creek nearby, perfect for unwinding. Kerry and Cody, the hosts, were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway, completely off grid.

A great place to relax!

We absolutely loved it here, it was such a beautiful area and the owners were so sweet and accommodating. The campsites were just by a beautiful clear creek and was not close packed at all, so you really felt like it was just you and nature which was amazing. It was also really dog friendly, allowing dogs to be off leash and enjoy themselves. I think my little dog has never had as much fun as she had running around playing and having a good time. A great place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life!
