Recently, as a family, we have seen a large increase in the people traveling to the Sunshine Coast to escape the city limits. Unable to rock up to a campsite and pick our spot like we used to, it was easy to see a growing demand. We have taken everything we love about camping and done our best to give you a sense of what life on the Coast is really about.
Please note: By entering onto the property you release all liabilities towards us as hosts. You are choosing to camp in a forested area that contains many hazards as well as potential threats. These include but are not limited to; Wild life (bears, bob cats, cougars ect), Fire is a serious threat to this region during summer months strict no smoking policy is in effect. Care should be taken walking around uneven surfaces. All campers are required to stay within camp boundaries fail to follow these protocols will result in being asked to leave.

We’re a 5-minute drive to Rathtrevor beach/Parksville, Englishman River. We are right in the middle of an extensive trail network perfect for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding.
There is plenty of space for RVs and trailers - we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length. 30 amp Electrical and potable water hookups are available. WI-FI onsite as well.
Private site yet close to all amenities. Local favourite Rocking Horse Pub is a quick walk and a must-stop for dinner and drinks!
Centrally located on Vancouver Island, it’s a perfect spot to set up the rig and day trip out to Rathtrevor, Little Qualicum, Coombs, Port Alberni valley and Nanaimo, or go for an overnighter in Victoria, Tofino, Mount Washington and the Comox Valley.

Hi. My name is Christian and welcome to my beautiful Forest Sanctuary on the slopes of Mt. Elphinstone in Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast. My property is a magical, private nature retreat created in the spirit of love and reverence for the land on which it is built. It is a sanctuary to nurture the body, mind and spirit. A place to come back to One's Self.
I have taken a piece of forest and transformed it into a Premium camping experience with pastures, terraces, pathways, a pond and island, level campsites with grass and sand and a communal outdoor pavilion lounge with fully stocked kitchen at your disposal. A large communal campfire is available. I have solar showers too. This is a magnificent place to bring the kids, a wonderful place to hang with friends and family, a peaceful place for lovers and a great place to come on your own to remember how awesome and talented you really are.
I can accommodate larger groups, workshops and parties. Ask me about renting the entire site for private gatherings.
My fully stocked pavilion, kitchen and lounge has all the cookware, dishware and utensils needed to prepare your meal. There is also a BBQ and Coleman stove with propane provided. Drinking water is provided. Firewood is free when campfires are permitted. For bathing I have a solar shower and a little aquifer-fed pond for clean, cold water dips. If you want something a little fancier I have a great little off-grid camping cabin which rents for $135/night. You can ask me about it.
My campsite is located in Roberts Creek, British Columbia. Roberts Creek is a peaceful, eclectic, rural community seated between Gibsons and Sechelt, and possesses a stunning blend of beaches, forest, and some of the friendliest people you will come across. A relaxing atmosphere awaits you here, where both your artistic and outdoor adventure self is sure to feel at home.
Please note I am 2 kms up a well maintained private gravel road. 2 wheel drive vehicles are ok.

NO tent campers as there are no bathroom facilities on site.Access to great hiking just out your door at Elk Lake Regional Park (a 5 min walk to the beach for a swim, paddle, or fish at the nearby fishing dock) and Bear Hill Regional Park (20 min hike through fir and arbutus trees with beautiful views of the peninsula from the top). 10 minutes to Butchart gardens, with Butterfly Garden on the way. Ideal spot for campers looking to stay 1-2 nights. Great as a stopover to Tofino. Perfect for couples or groups of two, with a maximum of 4 campers.There are many wonderful farms and stands, wineries, coffee shops, and restaurants close by. Your site is a semi-private flat gravel area surrounded by fir trees. Easy access and plenty of turnaround room.

And for your information—This year we have a quiet long term camper in the site next to the one you can reserve in a school bus and a tiny home is at the end of the road with no occupancy. There are large berms inbetween each site for privacy.

Overview
Known as the City of Totems (thanks to the world's largest collection of outdoor totem poles), Duncan is on the traditional lands of the Cowichan First Nation and is one of Vancouver Island’s most historically important centres. Just off the Trans-Canada Highway, halfway between Victoria and Nanaimo, the city boasts heritage buildings, gastropubs featuring local produce, and galleries showcasing First Nations artists. Located on the Cowichan River, in the heart of the Cowichan Valley, Duncan’s fishing, hiking and canoeing opportunities are endless. Camping options are just as plentiful, covering everything from riverside RVing to tent camping in nearby provincial parks.
When to go
With its temperate climate, Vancouver Island has the warmest year-round weather in all of Canada, but it also gets the most rainfall. To avoid the wettest months (October to April), plan your camping trip to Duncan and the Cowichan Valley between May and September. July and August are the busiest months, so make sure you book ahead if possible. If you’re seeking the two sweet-spot months for camping, opt for June or September.
Know before you go
- Public transit is limited outside of Duncan’s downtown area, so if you want to explore the greater Cowichan Valley, having your own vehicle is key.
- There are a number of shopping centres along the Trans-Canada Highway and in Duncan, but once you venture off onto smaller roads, supplies become limited. Stock up where you can.
- Bears and cougars live all over Vancouver Island, so follow park food-storage guidelines and wildlife protocols.
- Even during the summer months, the rain can roll in, so be sure to pack appropriate waterproof clothes and gear to keep you warm and dry.
