The Scrub Campsite

Inglewood is a 130-acre property currently running beef cattle and sheep. The property has 15 acres of remnant stringy bark scrub which abuts the Heysen Trail.
This private campsite is contained within the scrub although campers have access to the whole property. There are 13 bespoke sites available. The owner has the right to assist campers when choosing their site. This is determined by factors such as type of accommodation, group size. access to toilet and communal areas, weather and privacy needs.
Specific sites cannot be reserved unless by prior arrangement with the owner.
The whole campsite can be hired exclusively for large groups - contact me direct for booking details and costs. A wood package can be purchased for $50 the communal fire circle.
We offer sites suitable for camper trailers, campervans, , rooftop tents, tents and swags and pop top vans (sorry, no large caravans).
During the non fire ban period all fires must be contained in the fire pits provided. Some firewood is supplied for you. Please bring firewood if you intend to have a campfire for an extended period or you may purchase wood for $15 for 20 kgs.
A communal camp kitchen, barbecue, rain water and tables available.
A composting toilet is available as is a solar and rocket shower system.
Colloquially known as God's Country the property is conveniently located
1hr 20 mins from Adelaide, 14 mins from Victor Harbor, and 20 mins from Pt Elliot, Middleton, Waitpinga and Parson's beach, Hindmarsh Falls and Normanville. Other nearby localities are Deep Creek National Park, Newland Conservation Park, Springmount National Park, Granite Island and the Kangaroo Island ferry. The popular Belicious Belgium Cafe is a 60 min walk or 5 minute drive from the campsite.
Walkers on the Heysen trail can access the campsite 100 metres away.
An erected walker's tent is available for booking. The tent is located away from the campsite in the middle of the scrub and has chairs, tables and a fire pit for walkers use.
Please note that the campsite has a no noise/music policy after 9pm

Campground has shared facilities and respect of each other and the land is critical.
We are a leave no trace site, which means everything you bring in you must take with you, which includes rubbish and broken things. The bins at the entrance are for residents only and as they are only collected fortnightly cannot cater for more than those who live here.
Firewood can be brought in by you or we will provide wood for $30/night per site. Wood is not to be foraged from adjoining scrub as it is Heritage listed and to be left for habitat, ecosystem and your admiration only!

Waitpinga Ridge is a farm located on the Fleurieu Peninsula, 15min from Victor Harbor. The Creek Camp Site is tucket away surrounded by gums and adjacent to 35acres of land reseeded back to native bush. From this location you can explore the Fleurieu with ease. Hike parts of the Heysen trail along the Waitpinga Sea Cliffs. Enjoy a drink at Lost Phoenix Farm or Boho Farm. Our 40 acres is 2WD accessible and set just off the coast in beautiful McLaren Vale, South Australia.
The camp is set in a flat, cleared area on the rear of our working family property. With ample space to spread out and put your feet up, the River Red Gum trees also provide natural shade and shelter. Perfect for setting up tents, hammocks or a slack line!
Along with local kangaroos, you'll likely spot our small flock of sheep in the paddock nearby or the neighbouring horses up the hill.
Ask us about our small batch wine and take advantage of being in the heart of wine country - the nearest cellar door is only a 3 minute drive away!
After an afternoon of wine tasting, drive 10 minutes to the beach and enjoy a sunset over the water. Tomorrow, choose your own adventure with more wining and dining, swimming and surfing, or walking one of McLaren Vale's stunning trails.
On a Saturday, you might find yourself at the Willunga Farmers Market (5 min drive) which runs each week from 8am to Midday and offers a variety of local goods and produce.

- No shower or toilet facilities provided, campers must be self-sufficient.
- Three drinking water taps are available for your convenience.
- No pets. We have a variety of animals on our property that rely on us to keep them safe.
- No motorbikes.
- No fires from approx. November 1 - April 30 due to SA restrictions. If not during this time, please clear it with us as restrictions and fire ban days change year to year.
- Please stay within the designated camp area! As a working property and vineyard, we have large machinery in use daily and visitors must follow biosecurity protocol (fancy explanation for keeping everyone's vineyards safe from disease and pests).

Rocky Dale Farm

This is a campsite for those who want the best of both worlds, the serenity of the Australian Bush, but close to all the modern conveniences and holiday activities.
Surrounded by the Hindmarsh Valley National Park and a working sheep farm, you’ll be sharing this campsite with the local kangaroos, and if you’re lucky, an echidna or two. There’s a creek running through, and vibrant bird life.
Nearby is a beautiful bush-walk through the Mount Billy Conservation Park.
Situated half way between Myponga and Victor Harbor, only 15 minutes to either, there are many activities available. Kayaking on the Myponga reservoir, or surfing, swimming and sun bathing at either Horseshoe Bay or Waitpinga.
Urimbirra wildlife park is less than 10 minutes away, and around the corner is the Softfoot Alpaca Farm, with the on-site Swagman Restaurant. Also in Hindmarsh Valley is the lovely restaurant Lost Phoenix Farm.

Emu Bay Hideaway, Kangaroo Island

30 hectares of peace, mainly vegetated with Kangaroo Island Narrow-leaved Mallee (Eucalyptus cneorifolia, a nationally-protected ecological community). Kangaroos and wallabies are in abundance. It has a wonderful feeling of remoteness and seclusion yet is so close to iconic Emu Bay.
Those with 4WD may choose sites overlooking Shoal Bay towards Kingscote.
Alternatively, you may set up camp anywhere on the property. There is even one under-cover position with a concrete floor for those concerned about the weather.
There are no amenities so guests need to be 100% self-sufficient (including BYO drinking water and toilet) and leave no trace. It is a wild block and only five minutes from the iconic Emu Bay, where the white sandy beach runs for 4kms, most of which is backed by 10 to 20-meter-high dunes. It is one of the best beaches on the island with crystal-clear water.
Check with me before lighting a campfire - this depends on the season and risk. Dogs are permitted if well controlled (register visiting dogs with local council).

This is a place for quiet travelers, artists, and outdoor lovers looking for a peaceful camp. We have an open dam on the property and for this reason, do not to accept bookings with children and pets, we do occasionally allow guide dogs. You will need to ask permission and give details before booking if you want to bring a pet.
We have a few rescue alpacas, sheep, and other small animals on site that will live out their lives in peace. There are many native animals to enjoy watching including kangaroos, native birds, bats, etc. A native tree reforestation project has taken place and the owners are all about regenerating the land. No poisons or sprays are used.
This is a place to connect with nature, there is a mixture of trees and native plants, and a winter creek runs through the property that fills a small dam and creates a small waterfall when flowing.
There is also a loo with a view which is a composting toilet built from recycled materials.
We are just a 10-minutes drive from Victor Harbor where all boating, surfing, shopping, and restaurants are located.
We have an onsite Studio with Treatments available including Reiki, Massage, Yoga, Meditation & Drumming.

Overview
Most campers only find themselves in Cape Jervis for one reason only—to catch the ferry to Kangaroo Island—but there are plenty of good reasons to stay on the mainland too. Perched at the western tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula, the ferry port is also a strategic base for exploring the sandy beaches, rocky coves, and sea cliffs of the south coast. Set out from Cape Jervis to hike the 745-mile (1,200-kilometre)-long Heysen Trail, go wildlife watching at Deep Creek Conservation Park, or hike and fish along the pebbled beaches of Rapid Bay.
Where to go
Fleurieu Peninsula
Road-trippers driving from Adelaide to Cape Jervis can take in the highlights of the Fleurieu Peninsula along the way. Swing by the Willunga Farmers Market, ride a horse-drawn tram from Victor Harbor to see the penguin colonies of Granite Island, or hop aboard the famous Cockle Train at nearby Goolwa.
Kangaroo Island
Car ferries set sail from Cape Jervis to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island—about a 45-minute journey—from where you can explore the island’s sandy beaches and wildlife-filled bushlands. Stop at Seal Bay to admire the sea lion colony, go sandboarding at the Little Sahara sand dunes, then venture off-road in the Flinders Chase National Park, home to natural wonders like Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch.
McLaren Vale
The vine-clad foothills of the Mount Lofty Ranges and the Adelaide Hills make up the McLaren Vale wine region, home to some of South Australia’s oldest and most prestigious wineries. Rent a bike to explore the Shiraz trail, stopping off at boutique wineries and cellar doors, then check into a tranquil country campground, spend a night in a solar-powered eco-cabin, or go glamping in a bell tent.
When to go
The most popular time to visit Cape Jervis is during the summer months (Dec through Feb), when crowds flock to the surrounding beaches and ferry port. Ferries run from Cape Jervis to Kangaroo Island year-round, although they are occasionally cancelled in winter if the weather is particularly rough. June through October is whale migration season, so keep a lookout as you hike or cruise along the south coast.
