Located on the stunning Tumut River, where cool groves of black wattle line the riverbank, offering shade, privacy, and comfort. Here you have clear Snowy River water at your doorstep. It's so fresh we drink it! Each camping site is by the river, prime position for fishing, canoeing, and swimming. Based on availability, you are welcome to choose your spot on arrival. All options are grassed and level. You will have access to a pit toilet, otherwise, please BYO facilities. Small campfires are welcome in the fire pits provided, or BYO firepit (permitting there are no restrictions in place at the time). Firewood can be purchased at the time of booking. We're pet-friendly, so you're welcome to bring your four-legged friends along! Please note, however, that we are a working farm and as such farm activities are going on, and we have resident animals, so please keep your pets under control at all times. Also, please ensure kids are supervised at all times, particularly around the river. Lifejackets are recommended. During your time here, visit the local farm gates in Tumut, Batlow, Tumbarumba, and Adelong for their delicious high-country produce. There are also some beautiful swimming spots and walks to discover in the region, as well as good facilities in town, including the local swimming pool and shopping centre. Enjoy a local brew and bite to eat at the Tumut brewery. Bahwidgee is just 3km from the Tumut town centre - so close you could ride in, or even walk.

Beautiful open camping space by the river with plenty of room to keep to yourself! Bonus that it was dog friendly, we all had a great time.

Farm camping along the river
This spot was in such a beautiful spot along the river. So much space to spread out if needed. Beautiful sunsets with the mountains in the background and we even got visited by a platypus every morning!

Amazing place! Just so pretty - waking up to the cows calling each other was hilarious and watching them potter around (and come quite close at some points!) was awesome. Have already booked the next trip!

Great Spot
I really loved the place. The Tumut River is superb and really clear. It’s really close to town if you need supplies but I was so happy with my little spot I stayed for 9 nights. I saw trout, platypus a variety of birds. The host Wayne is also a very nice layed back bloke. The drop toilet was perfect and the river was great for a wash down. Overall very impressed!!!!

Great Location
Very nice camp area at the edge of the Tumut river, Wayne was great. Just had to watch out for Cow Paddies around the place as it is a working fram.

Camping on the Tumut River
I want to compliment Wayne as our Hipcamp host for a magnificent camping spot on the Tumut River. My friend and I took advantage of the opportunity to take our new campervans away for an off-grid experience. Wayne’s property is absolutely stunning and the wildlife was amazing! We were thrilled to see a platypus frolicking in the water, right in front of our camp. We also had a visit from a fox that came within a meter of us. I don’t know who was more surprised, the fox or us. We loved the cows and their calves wandering around too.
