A little piece of paradise
We were looking forward to 3 days at Bindara as a time to chill and relax during our travels. We could not have chosen better! The property is lovely and Barb was a fabulous host. A couple of issues with the shower and water but quickly sorted - and this is camping not 5 star!

Lovely property to camp at, right on the Darling River. A bit of a trek to get there along a long dirt road whichever direction you come from, but the road was in very good condition given it was dry.

Great set up of sites overlooking the Darling, with bathroom facilities. A real park of Australian outback history. Welcoming and great hosts who made our stay special. Certainly, plan to return.

Perfect oasis in the outback
What a beautiful property to stay on, everything about it was perfect for a relaxing stay in the outback. Hosts Barb and John were the most amazing people and if you are lucky to be invited for dinner you won’t go hungry or thirsty! John makes a mean Irish Coffee after dinner in front of the fire.

On the banks of the Baaka - Bindara
Bindara Station is an historic piece of pastoral history. The land Bindara occupies shares a strong ancient Aboriginal history too. With many physical examples evidencing Aboriginal occupation prior to European settlement like scar trees and fire places. The station was once home to 300 people - station workers and their families. There is an old well kept grave yard of settlers. Barb, the owner has lived on the property since 1982. She is down to earth and welcoming. Her partner David (I think) was curious and interesting to talk to. He was clearly wanting to better understand the remnants of Aboriginal people. It was a clean campsite on the banks of the Darling River (the Baaka) and my son Jake & our pup Max enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing stay. Evening around a warm campfire, a full moon and a clear star filled sky - with Southern Cross prominent. Highly recommend staying here. There were other campers but the distant between campsites ensured privacy and our own space. A great way to unwind. We loved it. It’s great to get out into that country. Check it out you’ll love it, especially if you love the character of Australia. The meeting of the ancient with the hardiness of the early white settlers. A stay there will make you love Australia more.
