At the foot of the Watagan mountains, close to the Watagan 4WD tracks, picnic areas, and bike tracks. Also close to Lake Macquarie where you will find fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing etc. About a 20 - 40 min drive to beautiful beaches. Ideal for those wanting to be surrounded by birds, nature and a couple of friendly doggos. Also great for people wanting to try out their new camper, van or tent for the 1st time as we are an easy 1 hour drive north of Sydney on the M1 and close enough to shops for those forgotten items. Also we have unfenced dams, if you are camping with young children please consider carefully and let me know before booking. We have very basic bathroom facilities of 1 flushing toilet in the shed and an outdoor warm shower.

Bunyip's Brooke's Nook -Primitive
Good spot with Lots of grass. Plenty of trees and sites are spaced well apart for a bit of privacy.

2 old dogs to keep you company.
What a great setup! Excellent location and nice open spaces. Mine had some tree shade. A shower with hot water and a toilet were available 50 meters away. I ordered firewood and had a great evening.

Bunyip's Wattle Grove - primitive
Disappointing!!
Toilet is in old shack: unmaintained, dirty and without a door. A tarp has been doing the job for a long long time. Shower is equally very disappointing. Both are less than 1 star. Especially if you realise how many people can stay at this huge campsite. A bit of TLC would make a huge difference. We wondered what we were paying for!

Friendly welcome. Exactly what was advertised, it’s the 4th time we stay. Happy as always.

Bunyip's HideAway primitive camp
Lisa and her dogs are very friendly and the campground is beautiful and well maintained. The toilet facilities and shower are in poor condition and quite a walk from the camp site. Also, the surroundings are quite noisy from the road and the surrounding farm. It is a good spot for an overnight stay on the way to Sydney or to test out your camping gear, but would not make it the main destination for a trip.
