Located just one hour from Sydney, our property features 19 acres of pure serenity with two dams and one large enough to kayak on (kayaks supplied). The back of the property is perfect for camping and suitable for a small to medium caravan/camper. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks available to paddle on. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Aqua Pool Trail in the National Park is just gorgeous. If you wish to try and catch some yabbies from the dams the only allowable and fun way is by a long stick and sausage. Hooks, fishing lines and traps are not allowed as we have people, dogs and horses swimming in the dams. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their shower/toilet set up. We do have two drop pit toilets available and each campsite has a pit fire provided. We are getting low on firewood so you will need to bring some along with you. There is access to drinking water. Our property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small caravans and camper trailers. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history. Mittagong and Bowral have great wineries with restaurant/bistro. Pets are welcome. There's a range of different bushwalking trails in the region, including Starlights trail, a scenic bushwalk suited to experienced hikers, which forms part the Greater Blue Mountains trail network between Mittagong and Katoomba. You'll be just one hour from Sydney yet feel like you're a world away, with the Nattai National Park at your doorstep.  Our 19 acre property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small to medium size caravans, RV’s and camper trailers. Pitch your tent or park your van around either of the two dams and enjoy the view while you keep toasty around the fire pit. We have two drop pit toilets available as well as potable water. You'll still need to bring your own shower. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks to go for a paddle. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River where you can have a picnic and go for a swim in the beautiful aqua pools. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history.  Pets are welcome on our property.

The Secret Getaway - Buxton
We loved our camping trip on Kim’s land. A mix of tents / vehicles and we had room for them all! Gorgeous location and fantastic facilities. Really appreciated the toilet facilities, sports equipment, kayak access and recommendations for walks! Thank you both for a lovely stay - we will be back!

Great hideaway near Picton
Great spot, easy communication with Kim and the team. Love the dam, well the dogs did! Easy turn around and drive through for an 18ft caravan

We spent the long weekend at Buxton and Kim was very hospitable. The campsite was lovely with a view to a pond and the toilet was super clean. Would definitely recommend!

The Secret Getaway - Buxton
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this campsite, and it was a great experience! The rustic charm truly captures the essence of the Aussie outdoors, providing a great atmosphere for relaxation and adventure. The owners were incredibly friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The spacious sites allowed for plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the natural surroundings. Plus, being close to Picton made it convenient for exploring the area. This campsite is the perfect getaway for anyone looking to escape into nature for a short 48-hour adventure. I can’t recommend it enough!
