Located just one hour from Sydney, our property features 19 acres of pure serenity with two dams and one large enough to kayak on (kayaks supplied). The back of the property is perfect for camping and suitable for a small to medium caravan/camper. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks available to paddle on. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Aqua Pool Trail in the National Park is just gorgeous. If you wish to try and catch some yabbies from the dams the only allowable and fun way is by a long stick and sausage. Hooks, fishing lines and traps are not allowed as we have people, dogs and horses swimming in the dams. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their shower/toilet set up. We do have two drop pit toilets available and each campsite has a pit fire provided. We are getting low on firewood so you will need to bring some along with you. There is access to drinking water. Our property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small caravans and camper trailers. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history. Mittagong and Bowral have great wineries with restaurant/bistro. Pets are welcome. There's a range of different bushwalking trails in the region, including Starlights trail, a scenic bushwalk suited to experienced hikers, which forms part the Greater Blue Mountains trail network between Mittagong and Katoomba.

The Secret Getaway - Buxton
Awsome a must stay!
What a hidden gem! Im a local for over 35 years and had no idea how close such a great camping property was to us basically down the road! Kim is such a pleasant and friendly host. The grounds are neat and tidy, has an extremely clean drop toilet, outdoor sports activities for the kids and kayaks available. You can truely see the love and effort in this property. As Ive always wanted to see little river and the aqua pool, we took the trek down there twice! So beautiful! Its easy for first 10 mins but the second 10 mins is all down hill on a rocky zig zaggy rock face but its ok with a hiking stick. 10/10 we will be back again!

The most peaceful & beautiful camp spot. I camped above the bottom dam, in the evening there were fairy lights and little lamps all around the dam, it was so pretty. Was a great spot for the pup too! Kim is a gorgeous host, I wish I could’ve stayed longer!

Wonderful bushcamp
The campsite was extremely clean and roomy with a beautiful view over the dam and native bush land. We walked into the National Park next door down to the river where the kids caught tadpoles. There was heaps for our grandchildren to explore on the property and games were set up near the campsite. Kim was a wonderful host who was generous with her time and gave our grandchildren some lovely experiences. At night there are small solar lights around the campsites which makes it very special. There is a great firepit at the campsite with log seats surrounding it, the composting toilet is clean and the campsites are well spaced.

Amazing campsite and great host
We camp for a night with friends. It was pissing down rain on our first day, but host made sure that our group of 8 are comfortable and warm. She lend us a gazebo and extra warm blankets! The location is amazing, with view of a dam in the campsite. We would love to come back on warmer month to check some walking trails. Compost toilet is one of the cleanest we've seen.
