Our working farm is located between Kempsey and Armidale in the beautiful Macleay Valley in the Northern Tablelands of NSW. We offer large, grassy campsites on the beautiful Macleay River and a modern amenities block with hot showers and flushing toilets. Additional guests welcome at $20 per head per night over 12 years old. Kids 5 - 12 years $5 per night. Under 5 years free **IMPORTANT INFORMATION** Cracknback Campground is situated almost half way between Kempsey and Armidale shires. They are each responsible for this road. The boundary between the two shires is at Blackbird Flat - which is 12 km from us towards Kempsey. The Armidale Shire section of road is officially closed - however we do have permission to operate. DO NOT USE GPS! Because the road is closed on Live Traffic, GPS will take you into the back hills. From Kempsey 1.5 hours. Travel through Willawarrin, Bellbrook and continue straight for 40 mins until you see our signs on the left. From Armidale 1.5 hours. Travel app 41km on Waterfall Way. Turn right onto Kempsey-Armidale Road. Cracknback is app 54km on the right. * Heaps of flat ground for kids to ride bikes * Watch tortoises and fish in the river * Free kayaks for use * Beautiful mountain ranges and such an open sky you can see the Milky Way! * 30 roomy sites, flushing toilets, hot showers * Family friendly * We are dog friendly...if your dog is friendly. * Fire pits provided but bring your own woodWelcome! Cracknback is situated on the beautiful Macleay River in the Mid North Coast of NSW. It is the perfect getaway spot to enjoy majestic mountains and pristine wilderness. Enjoy bass fishing, swimming, kayaking or just chilling out under the stars.  Lots of flat ground for kids to ride bikes DO NOT USE GPS!! Because the road is 'closed' on live traffic, GPS will send you into back roads. Stick to Kempsey-Armidale road. Drive in a straight line until you see Cracknback signs. Use UHF 17 if you have it. Please be aware that you will see a lot of 'residents only' signs. We have permission to operate and you can legitimately use the road if you are coming to stay with us. Please drive carefully and aim to get here before dark if possible. We are on a narrow, winding dirt road. Don't drive over rock fall. It is sharp and will puncture tyres! Hot showers and flushing toilets give some creature comforts with large camping sites. We don't reserve sites but you are free to choose where you camp. Fire pits provided, but please bring your own wood. If your dog is viscous, chases wildlife or is child/dog unfriendly or has to be restrained for these reasons, please don't bring them. Everyone has a right to feel safe. We reserve the right to ask you to leave if your dog falls into one of these categories This is a 'leave no trace' property. We ask that you take all rubbish home and leave your site as pristine as you found it. This is a working farm and a work in progress! Welcome home

Camping with Dogs
We had a lovely grassy, flat site overlooking the river and mountains. We took a 4WD and camper trailer along with 2 dogs, we stayed 2 nights. Beth was very helpful and friendly.
