Dungog Shire is in the Hunter Region of NSW and is renowned for its forests, mountains and picturesque river villages. Go for a scenic drive through historical villages, you will find beautiful picnic areas or take a walk in the World Heritage listed Barrington Tops National Park. Dungog is bordered in the north by the Barrington Tops plateau, which is part of the Great Dividing Range. The Shire consists predominantly of very rugged to hilly country which becomes less rugged from north to south.

Rudimentary, but the basics are there for a quick camp - quiet(ish) and basic amenities. I'd be happy to stay again.

Country at its best!
It's within walking distance of the main street. It's well cared for. Lots of site choices. Well cared for amenities. A good price too.

Well cared for showground. Land a bit slopey, who doesnt have levelling blocks? Site 9 and 10 easy access to water. Noticed people on 11 were able to level easily by going 90degrees to site layout. Only 1 shower for site and its in disability toilet. We dont use amenities, no issue for us. Info centre helpful. Good bakery in town. Lots of old historic buildings.

The Dungog showground was a great place to camp. Amenities were clean and well maintained, would definately recommend it.

Fire hose was leaking & making the ground near our site wet. Also site numbers need to be more clearly marked.
