Welcome to Port Macquarie's 'The Hatch Farm'; a pet friendly, interactive animal and fishing farm stay! A 150-acre working farm with a stunning outlook over the saltwater Maria River (with a rustic boat ramp and waterway running into the Hastings River). Located on the Mid North Coast NSW, 4kms off the Pacific Highway, and a quick 13/15-minute drive to the holiday township of Port Macquarie. Port Macquarie is known for its beautiful beaches, coastal scenery and walks, koala hospital, and local strawberry and tomato picking. Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement. The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There is plenty to do and see around the farm from complete relaxation, interacting with the friendly animals (there is usually a variety of babies to cuddle!), to casting a line or launching your boat from the rustic boat ramp. Friendly pets welcome.

Loved tent camping here. Very peaceful and lovely water and farm views. Hosts were amazing and very helpful. My son loved feeding the animals. Highly recommended.

Absolute Gem!
I absolutely loved this spot. The host Susan could not be more hospitable. She gave us access to the her beautiful property as well as introducing us to all of her wonder animals. The amenities were some of the best I have used at Hipcamp and were kept clean and tidy throughout our entire stay. The access to the river was great and our dog absolutely loved the freedom to swim and enjoy the natural beauty of the property. The location is so central to Port Macquarie and surrounding area as well as being a short stroll from the wonderful cafe at Riccardo’s tomatoes. Thank you Susan and Bernard, I will be back and bringing my friend and family.

The Hatch Farm Stay
Our stay at The Hatch was outstanding. There are loads of activities to do, from fishing off the bank, kayaking with the provided kayaks, trampoline for kids and the endless baby animals to cuddle and farm animals to feed, Susan & Bernard’s hospitality was unmatched. They were so welcoming, provided so much knowledge about their farm and animals, and even ran a tour for us and the kids to feed all the animals. The sites are huge, so you don’t feel close to anyone. The amenities are clean, the showers hot and the property is 15minutes from port Macquarie town centre. We had a fabulous stay and would highly recommend this property. Thank you Susan & Bernard. We’ll definitely be back!

Relaxing river stay
We loved camping in our caravan at Susan and Bernard’s property beside the Hastings river. The sites were huge and flat. There was plenty of shade to enjoy beside the river and the farm animals were fantastic. Directions were clear and Susan and Bernard were very friendly and welcoming hosts. Each site had a fire pit which we enjoyed every evening. Susan gave us all a Farm animal tour, which was very interesting and we all got to feed the animals. We also caught fish in the river. We would definitely stay again.
