Situated between Goulburn and the rural village Crookwell is the Yurtfarm. Mike Shepherd has been running Back to Basics living camps here for more then 30 years and we now want to invite campers to our picturesque Yurt village. We can show kids what farm life is all about and how to make fun in the bush or you can just come and enjoy the peace and quiet. Apart from abundant wildlife we farm sheep and Scottish Highland cattle. We also have lots of horses and dogs and you can collect fresh eggs from our chickens. Take a stroll through our gardens, a hike to the Peace yurt and boil the Billy or learn about growing vegetables. We have toilets and a kitchen yurt for your convenience. We look forward to meeting you!

Yurt village
Highly recommend!!!
Camping at the Yurtfarm was so much fun. We had three boys ages 4-6 with us and they had a blast. We set up right by the playground and had the whole place to ourselves. Mikes generosity and enthusiasm was infectious and we loved getting to spend time with Mike while he shared the history of the farm and took us out on the tractor. Access to the site is really easy, the amenities make for a really easy camp. The Yurtfarm is a great throwback to simpler times, with plenty for the kids to explore!

Yurt village
I would give two thumbs down. My partner and I went to go stay at the yurt farm. On arrival to the camp site the toilets did not work as they were clogged, shower was cold water only unless you could start a fire as it was not gas. After seeing any available spots that where there (also being the only people there) we turned around and paid half the price at the big 4 in Goulburn. Wouldn’t recommend.

Best campground for friend groups!
My friends and I had the best time here!! Amazing views, beautiful and peaceful atmosphere, and a generous, lovely host! The ability to roam around the farm exploring the yurts was so fun, and Mike (one of the hosts) taking us on adventures was definitely the highlight! Can’t wait to come back again.
