Need to recharge, reconnect and truly escape it all? This is your place. Our property is a unique, healing place to unplug surrounded by the beauty of eastern North Carolina. Nestled along the Neuse River with mature trees draped with Spanish moss ,we have 1000ft of riverfront as well as a peaceful pond, dock and prayer/mediation labyrinth.
You will experience the most unforgettable sunsets, overwhelming peace, tranquility and a supreme connection back to nature. With only a 10 minute drive to historic downtown New Bern and a 30-40 minute drive to the beach, you can experience the best of both worlds. Many people tell us, and we know it true ourselves, there is something truly healing about our property. Come find out!
Our personal home is located on the property, but we give our campers space and privacy during their visit.
A few notes:
-Our campsite is located on a peninsula surrounded by the river, because of the nature of the property, we do not allow children under 10 to visit.
-Firewood is not provided but can be purchased at KOA just down the highway.
-Fishing licenses are required for those wishing to fish
-On your ride down our dirt road you will pass mobile homes about a 1/4 of a mile from us. These are our friendly neighbors that keep to themselves and do not interact with our property. If you are not comfortable driving past that, this might not be the campsite for you. This is very common in rural North Carolina.
-Our campsite is for 5 people and 2 tents max. If you have more than 5 people coming please request to add additional people to your reservation.
-Our bathroom has a sink, toilet and electricity. There is no shower available.
-This is eastern NC, and there are plenty of wildlife and bugs.
-Dogs are welcome but must be leashed at all times.
-The campsite is located on the peninsula of our property but if you are more comfortable camping away from the riverfront you are able to move over to the pond as well (there is also a fire pit there). Our property is unlike any other in Craven County. Nestled along the Neuse River with 1,000 feet of waterfront, you will experience the gnarliest sunsets, overwhelming peace and tranquility and a supreme connection back to nature (plus, we have a bathroom for you!). Not only are you surrounded by the Neuse River, we also have a beautiful pond on our property as well as a prayer labyrinth, dock and boat ramp for launching your kayaks/canoes. With only a 10 minute drive to historic downtown New Bern you can experience the best of both worlds. Some of the wildlife you may see: bald eagles, beavers, jumping mullets, hawks, dear, geese, turtles, cranes. We have a bathroom facility that has toilet, sink and electricity. 1-2 tents (or add an additional 2 people for $10/person) are permitted for this site, and only those on the reservation are permitted on the property. If you have another party joining you or more than 2 tents, they will need to make a separate reservation. We are surrounded by water and this campsite is on a peninsula that has marsh on both sides, it is not a safe place for small children no matter how well behaved they are. We love kids, but acknowledge this is not a safe environment for small children. *Please keep in mind that we are on the water and may be subject to high winds and rough waters depending on the weather, no refunds will be given due to cancellation for weather*
Many people have told us, and we agree ourselves, this place is truly healing. You will leave feeling a sense of renewal, peace and a connection back to nature. Ending your day with a beautiful sunset on one end of the property, and beginning the next morning with sunrise is truly special. Bring your yoga mat, fishing rods, a good book, and unleash your inner child in the wonderful outdoors.
Things to note: -When arriving you will drive down a 1/4 mile dirt road. Because of our elevation and being surrounded by water, there are lots of inevitable potholes. You will also drive past a couple of mobile homes on your way down before you reach our property (they are friendly neighbors and respect our privacy fully). It sometimes comes with the territory of living in rural North Carolina, if that makes you uncomfy this might not be the place for you. -MCAS Cherry Point (military base) is about 25 min away, you may hear/see jets flying over at times. We also are about a mile from a train and a 1/4 mile from the main road. On a still day without wind you may hear the train or loud trucks. -You may experience wildlife (bugs, snakes, deer, bird, beavers, etc), please keep your pets leashes at all times. -Because of our coastal environment wind & storms can be intense at times. If we think it is unsafe for you to visit we will let you know and try our best to reschedule you to another time. -We love kids but admit our property is not safe for small children. -The bathroom is a basic toilet & sink with electricity (there is an outlet for charging things).
We want your stay to be as enjoyable as possible and are here for help, questions or recommendations but we are generally quite hands off as hosts and want you to have privacy. Because we live on the property you may see/hear us from time to time but we are very low key, peaceful people :)
