If you love campfires, birdwatching, freshwater creeks, fishing, and solitude, come and share the quietness of our 150 acre offgrid homestead and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Tropical North Queensland surrounded by world heritage rainforest, hills, creeks, the Mulgrave River, and all the flora and fauna that abound here. Our shallow freshwater creeks are refreshing to explore and, for deep water swimming and kayaking, it's only a five minute drive to Babinda Crossing. Hikers can explore our headlands or venture further to dedicated hiking trails including scaling the 922 metre high Walsh's Pyramid that's only a ten minute drive away. Birdwatchers are spoiled for choice day and night, beautiful insects are in abundance, small native marsupials and reptiles are regularly seen, and the waterways are home to a variety of tropical fish as well as the occasional crocodile in the main river. We’re a great base location for exploring the area as we’re only 15 minutes to the town of Gordonvale and less than an hour to Cairns International Airport, the Great Barrier Reef and the Atherton Tablelands. Boaties can take the ten minute drive to Deeral Boat Ramp to launch their vessel and head down the Mulgrave River to Russel Heads and out to the Great Barrier Reef and islands.

Magnificent views!
We had a two week getaway and this was our first off-grid stop and the whole family was so excited when we got there. Absolutely amazing views in all directions, place to ourselves, lovely hosts. Amazing piece of land and we loved every minute of it. Thanks so much! 🙏🏻

Amazing secluded area right by the river, perfect for fishing. Not another person around, no traffic just silence and the sound of nature. Mandie is lovely, very friendly and hospitable. We can't wait to visit again 🥰

Calm stay with stunning views
Stunning views, no others on the paddock and opportunity for a little barbeque on the fire. Lovely and calm place to stay!

The Triangle
We stayed at the triangle site. Huge green space, perfect for our dogs to run around off lead. Lovely rainforest mountain as backdrop, little stream and walkway to secret waterfall right next to us to paddle in. Peace and quiet and safe. We stayed here and drove into cairns for attractions. About half an hour. Lovely hosts too. Will definitely stay again

The Secret Garden
The Secret Garden
What a piece of paradise. We chose “ the secret garden” and despite having 100mms of rain, Richard still managed to find us a dry enough spot to call home for two nights. It was magical, we had it all to ourselves and the weather was kind. Sheltered by rain forest behind us - we felt very private. It was a truly special place and we encourage you to experience it … it’s why you chose not to be in a caravan park ! Thank you Margie and Richard. 10/10 and pet friendly was gratefully appreciated ..

Great spot. Very relaxing and heaps of open space. Margie was great to deal with and very accommodating. Would highly recommend and will be back again 👍
