A perfect spot to relax under the stars! A private bush camp experience with a seasonal creek, mango orchard and dam. Pitch your tent or set up your caravan either down near the dam, in a secluded bush setting, or closer to the house yard depending on what you prefer. Enjoy a bush walk around the property, taking in the natural Australian bush environment and enjoy the native wildlife. You may find kookaburras, king fishers, lizards, goannas and wallabies while exploring and can relax by a crackling fire at night. Help feed the farm animals when the owners are home. The goats love a good scratch! Each camp site is private with no other campers booked in the space on the same day. Guests are required to be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Property has secure key pad access.

Black River Bush Retreat Orchard
Nicole was a wonderful host. She greeted us at our camp by the Billabong and showed us a track for the kids to ride their bikes down to the dam where there was 2 canoes for them to use. There was plenty of firewood with a large fire pit. Our camp was super private and exactly what we needed after a very busy few weeks in packed caravan parks

Black River Bush Retreat Billabong
The site was very private with a wonderful, big firepit. Lots of wood around that Nicole said we could use. Bush on all sides with a turn-around for campers or vans. Nicole was very responsive to messages and we had no problems finding the property, nor access through the coded gate. Would recommend.

Black River Bush Retreat Dam Site
Stayed here for a quick overnighter and was a great camp spot. Very private and was well maintained by the owners. The host was very quick to respond to any questions also. Would definitely recommend

Black River Bush Retreat Dam Site
Perfect
Our first booking through the app and Nicole was a fantastic host. The property was secure and our site at the dam was perfect. Very pretty. Ours was a very last minute booking and was no hassle at all. The lawn was mowed and the wood was ready. Only a short drive into Townsville.

What a lovely Spot!
What a wonderful stay! After being greeted by the cows at the end of the road and lots of goats at the family home, our son was over the moon :) Nicole's family explained and showed us around and we really enjoyed the night in the quiet bushland! A fire under the stars rounded off the evening :) The next morning we were allowed to stroke the dog and the ponies and the animals enjoyed being stroked! Conclusion: Very friendly family, wonderful nature and lovely farm animals! Thank you very much! For an unforgettable stay.
