Enjoy a convenient and relaxing base to discover the best of Hervey Bay at our 150-acre cattle grazing farm located just 3km outside of town, with plenty of space for campers. To access the farm, turn right off the Maryborough Highway into Chapel Rd, then turn right at the picnic table beside the bikeway, and do not drive over the cattle grid. The entrance is right beside the grid with reflectors on each post. If you're having trouble finding the entrance, please call Ray at 0459247041 or Judy at 0459247042. We offer numerous camping sites on cleared land lined by trees, near to our gully and seasonal creek. Each site is private and offers plenty of space. Campers must be self-contained with their own camp toilet, but there is a 24/7 dump station just 2km away. A stone's throw from the campsites is access to the mobility corridor/bike path, which takes you straight into Hervey Bay and continues all the way past the shops to Urangan pier, offering 15km of ocean frontage to explore. Our farm is located about 2.5km from both hospitals (private and government) for any care that you may need. All specialists and consulting facilities are very convenient. Next door to the campsites is our fantastic local cafe, The Depot Espresso Bar, open at 6 in the morning. They're happy to take orders for our campers from 5:30 if you knock! It's perfect for hopping on your bike from camp, grabbing your morning caffeine fix, and continuing on the day's biking adventure. Campfires are permitted, but please BYO firepit, and there is plenty of fallen timber you are welcome to collect and split yourself. Pets are welcome too! Kids under 5 stay free and don't need to be included in the booking group count. Check-in is welcome after 9 am and you can depart anytime.

Spring into Nature
We enjoy watching the cows when they're grazing nearby . lots of baby calves right now. Trees, birds, butterflies, a goanna. And a snake spotted heading into a pile of rocks in the forest nearby - keeps life interesting here at Carlton Farm.

Carlton Farm Camping, Hervey Bay
Great spot on the outskirts of Hervey Bay and easy to access. Unusually, it was not crowded - in fact we were one of only three campers! Check in was simple and easy. There are no facilities (this is advertised, so not a criticism) so be aware you need to be self contained. Our only ‘complaint’, and it is a minor one, is that this is or was obviously a cow paddock, and there is plenty of evidence of that - needed to be careful where you walked.

Site is handy for Hervey Bay and the railway cycle path. There is road noise in early morning and evening. There are a couple of semi permanent sites who have generators but they were not run after 9:30 pm whilst we were there.

Lovely Experience
We had a lovely experience even though highway was a bit noisy. Close to coffee shop, markets and bike track into town.

Hosts are excellent
Great spot to stay. Hosts were excellent, we arrived way later than expected and they drove out to the main road and met us. Central location, just off the highway. Would definitely recommend! Thanks Judy & Ray
