Enjoyed a peaceful night here at The Shearing Sheds, topped off with watching the sunset, under The Coolabah Tree in the artesian baths amongst the Merino Sheep

A real gem
David was kind enough to upgrade me to the shearing shed with the artesian bath which I quite happily sat in and watched the sunset. This is a fantastic place and a really great host. I highly recommend it.

A real wool shed experience!
David is a generous host with very relaxed manner. The shearing shed and facilities made for a very comfortable stay. Great, very hot artesian baths set for sunset viewing. Private space- sharing with sheep, kangaroos and emus only. We loved our time here!

We camped at Gretel Cattle yards, the tub was amazing for the kids. I would highly recommend it to everyone to stay out here if your visiting Barcaldine. We will be back and staying at the shearing sheds next time as it looks so beautiful. We done the self tour definitely worth it for us. David is your host and couldn't recommend him highly enough. If your travelling in a group this place has big camp areas just contact David to find out how to book your group in.

Gretel Cattle Yards
What an amazing spot surrounded by Sheep, Cattle, kangaroos and even Emu’s to give you the true feeling of being in the outback!!
The Artisian hot tub was also an awesome addition to the camp ground. It was so relaxing to lie in it at night and enjoy the quiet and the stars.
100% recommend experiencing this camp!!

Unique Outback Treat!
Staying on David’s property at the cattle yards was a wildly memorable experience. We’re off-grid campers, so the isolated, flat, dry expanse under big country skies suited us perfectly. It felt phenomenally private, quiet and dark, considering how convenient it was to pull in on our way through Barcaldine. Communication and directions from David were great. The sit was clean and as advertised. The kids loved seeing the sheep, galahs, roos, emus and frogs. But of course, getting into a fire-charged artesian spa watching under a massive star-studded sky took the cake. It’s not every day you get to do that and we’re really grateful to David for providing such a special opportunity to us out-of-towners!
We stayed early October and made a point to arrive around 4pm and get out before the morning got too hot and dusty.
