Laurel Bank Camp
First time Hip Campers
We absolutely loved our time at Margaret's land - Both Margie and Martin are very knowledgeable about Rockhampton the sites to visit, where to purchase fresh produce and good local cafe options.
They even have good ideas and travel advise about the adjoining towns too.
Their land is spread out leaving the visitor to their solitude if they so desire.
Bring your own water and if you don't want to use your own amenities, they have the cleanest Port-a-Loo I have ever seen.
You won't be disappointed with the view either - There is a direct view of Mt Archer and it's only a 20 minute drive away.
And if you like mountain biking, both Margie and Martin are avid mountain and hybrid bike riders enabling them to share good locations to ride your deadly treadly to your biking level.
They have certainly set a high benchmark for our future Hip Camp options.

Warm welcome from Margaret and Martin on our arrival. A great spot to stay for the night with the cleanest toilets! Martin gave us a portable steel fire pit for the night, which was really enjoyable. Even though the weather wasn't great during the next morning, waking up near the horses was a blast.
Thank you M&M, we will definitely come back with pleasure!

Lovely hosts and great location.
Margie and her husband were very welcoming and accomodating. The 2 nights i stayed felt like record rainfall but Margaret checked in to make sure all was well. Perfect spot to get off the road and relax. Only 3 spots about 50m apart to cater for quietness but an occasional chat with a neighbour if you wish. Thank you both and i hope the rain helps

My friend and I loved camping here so much that we extended our stay. Margie and her husband were so lovely and welcoming and it was a massive luxury and convenience to us that they had a portaloo (being on the road, it’s one less thing to worry about). We also had service which was a bonus ahah. Will definitely be stopping back in here
