Hannah's Hilltop (Upper campsite)
Had an uncomplicated last minute booking. Wanted to go up to the hill but underestimated the way up although we have 4WD. After a quick chat with Benjamin we could stayed at Joys Nook instead. We saw some wallabies and other wild animals who shared the night with us. Road was hearable but didn't bothered us so much. In return we had a wonderful sunrise to watch out of our rooftop tent.

Hannah's Hilltop (Upper campsite)
Benjamins land ( Hannah’s Hilltop)
We loved it at Hannah’s Hilltop! Very steep and rocky hill incline up to the top ( need a vehicle with good ground clearance ) , blessed that Craig is a good 4 wheel driver! We made sure we were there before sunset to see the amazing view towards the ocean, magnetic island and the city. Once we set our fire up and relaxed there was a Beautiful view of the sunset and the sunrise was spectacular in the morning ..quiet and relaxing place for a little get away with toilets close enough to walk to and just minutes from home (Townsville ). Thank you for having us. Much appreciated Craig and Nola xx

Very dangerous after rainfall
Lovely guy that runs it, but wasn’t given the best directions on the way up, and it’s far too dangerous after the rain. Anything above the very first spot is sketchy at best, heavy muddy rocky landslides and thin dirt roads near cliff edges without many options to turn around make it incredibly unsafe after any rainfall. I can imagine it would be a lovely site when dry, but I damaged my car and nearly lost it off a cliff on the way past the initial site due to the signage being on the floor. Was a very scary experience to be quite honest, I got stuck up the second hill in a AWD and had to reverse down - Unless you have a serious off-road vehicle, I would avoid this campsite. I’m sure the sunset view would be lovey but even in a capable vehicle it’s a sketchy and challenging drive up. Two other English girls said the same thing to me and decided to camp elsewhere.

Hannah's Hilltop (Upper campsite)
Walk before you drive up the Hill!!
Do not proceed past the first camp without walking up the hill to see if your car will make it. Booked this an hour prior to arriving and received message from Ben with instructions on where to go upon arrival. We were in a Toyota Landcruiser so thought it would be fine to get to the upper camps. Bad mistake as we started to slip and if we had of stalled would more than likely slid back down the hill or off the side. We JUST made it. Extremely dangerous and we were lucky it didn’t rain overnight as we would have been potentially stuck up there until it cleared as it would have been to slippery to descend Very disappointed that there was no warning prior to ascending the hill. There’s no way we would have gone up there if we had of walked it first. Great view once up there but the stress/risk far outweighed anything positive

Lower campsite (Ridgeline)
Good views and convenient
Great instant book option as I booked at 9pm and was able to get to the site by 10.30pm. Dint use the toilets so can't comment. A decent spot with no other campers.
