We are located in the middle of the Glass House Mountains with wonderful views of Mt Coonowrin. It is a great spot for scenic photography, a base to explore the many hikes and climbs from in the surrounding National Parks. This site is located in the middle of the Glass House Mountains with wonderful views of Mt Coonowrin. Note: This site does not have any toilet or shower facilities so you will need to be a self-contained camper and bring your own. You can bring your own firewood from local service stations or other sources to be used in the firepit. Bring your hiking gear, your mountain bike and definitely bring your camera as the views are stellar. The craggy peaks of the Glass House Mountains tower above the surrounding landscape. They are so significant that they are listed on the Queensland and National Heritage Register as a landscape of national significance. Walking tracks lead through a variety of open forests to lookouts with panoramic views of the mountains. Some tracks are suitable for all levels of fitness and others include more challenging grades including rock scrambling skills. There are other challenging summit routes and climbing sites for experienced rockclimbers and abseilers. Or you might want to pull up a hammock and just laze the day away. This site is located in the middle of the Glass House Mountains with wonderful views of Mt Coonowrin. It’s a no from me
It was certainly a lovely view of the mountain however it was close to several homes, it felt as though we were in all their backyards and there was a bus, I presume was someone’s home so again didn’t feel private and someone liked a little sing song late at night and maybe the gun shot was another neighbour telling them to shush!. Hipcamp advertises only I site available however the first night a camper van appeared and when discussed with Pim we were informed that it was a Private arrangement and “go hop” and we then thought at any stage others could have arrived because it’s a “private arrangement” which goes against why we booked in the first place. It’s like renting out a house to one person and then subletting a bedroom to someone else because you think you can! The road noise was horrendous but I think that was due to a road closed near by but the road is very close again it’s like being in a backyard. It appeared to be a working property maybe strawberry’s so blood and bone smell which was lovely, the fire pit was enormous and glad we took our own more manageable fire pit. Lovely green grass on a slopping hill was the perfect spot to star gaze. Township only 6 minutes or so up the road so convenient. I wouldn’t stay there again however if you need a quick overnighter then it would be fine, provided there were no other private arrangements maybe ask.

We deliberately choose this site as there is only 1 site. We needed some peace and quiet to catch up on rest and sleep. We stayed for 5 nights. Pim is a great host and loved the massage too. The view is amazing and loved watching the stars at night.

A very well kept campsite with a terrific view of one of the Glass House Mountains. Enjoyed the space around the site for walking our dogs.
