4WD access required, sand track. Welcome to Riverside, a brand new campsite for that traditional style campground experience. Heaps of space, surrounded by nature, while still a stone's throw from civilization, come and see the beauty of this incredible natural environment for yourself. We have river access and our own private river beach (beautiful sandbar) at low tide, great for paddling, bird watching or fishing. Views to Fraser Island, large flat grass fields, freshwater dams and national park forests to explore. Because we are surrounded by wilderness and on the river, depending on the weather, wind, tide and particularly during the warmer months, insects and bugs may also be present. Please be aware and bring insect spray or protective clothing to suit your visit. Pet-friendly. Flushing toilet & hot showers. Bags of firewood, ice and bait for fishing all sold on site. Campfires allowed unless fire restrictions are in place.Access is via sand track, 4WD required. Price is for 1-2 Adults. You select an available campsite on arrival. The road access presented no problems but we did reduce our tyre pressure. Daniel was a good host explaining the property and things to do. Given the time of year we almost had the place to ourselves. As everyone says the midges were absolutely brutal and impacted the time we stayed.

Large open field with plenty of room! Clean facilities (toilet and warm shower). 10 min drive to the local town. Only negative was the midge’s which is out of their control. Would stay again 👍🏻

Great facilities
Plenty of space, toilet and showers were clean and tidy. Showers were excellent. Lots of midgies so mozzie coils are a must.

Great little spot by the river. Was quite busy over the Kings Birthday long weekend. But still plenty of room. Great little 4wd sandy section on the way in. Was a lot of fun.

Great potential!
Riverside COULD be the perfect spot, if only there weren’t a few downsides! The “4wd access sand track” is a bit of an understatement! We’ve done plenty of beach driving, so were confident we wouldn’t have any troubles. We were towing our 16 foot van, and unfortunately got stuck going in and out of the campground with it. If it weren’t for some fellow kind campers, we’d still be in the talcum powder sand. It was SOFT. Be prepared, either have a winch, or travel with someone who isn’t towing, so they can give you a tug if needed. We weren’t the only ones who got stuck either, 90% of the other campers we spoke to also got bogged. Also, we tried calling the owner, and messaging, but he didn’t respond. So we were thankful there were others who could help us out. Secondly, the SAND FLIES are brutal. I did everything in my power to not get bitten; mozzie wrist bands and patches, citronella candles, mozzie coils and of course insect repellent. I still got eaten. The amenities are great! Although only 2 showers and 2 toilets, we never found ourselves having to queue up. The shower takes a $1.00 coin for 3 mins, so make sure you bring some coins, only $1.00’s, it won’t take any other coins. Unfortunately we can’t see ourselves coming back any time soon, our relaxing weekend away turned out to be more stressful than relaxing, which is unfortunate. Add some rock or boards to the soft sand access track and it’d go from a 3/5 to a 4/5 star rating.
