On the banks of the beautiful Fitzroy River is the Rockhampton Water Ski Club. Only ten minutes drive from the Rockhampton CBD is the opportunity to access the only camping location along the fresh water side (upstream) of the Fitzroy River Barrage. This site offers full amenities, including hot water showers, flushing toilets, built in bbq's, and a camp kitchen. You can enjoy getting back to nature with the picturesque river views and enjoy the beautiful landscape or you can sit around the fire and tell some yarns with the family. Other activities that the site provides is direct access to the Fitzroy River via the clubs boat ramp, and doc, water skiing, fishing and of course you're more than welcome to bring your own canoes or kayaks. There are plenty of places for the kids to play and swim, so come for a day or a whole week.

Better than staying in town.
Very basic, dry grassy field. Very flat and fair tree shade. Basic facilities. Lots of Space. Some noisiness: aeroplanes landing overhead until around 9pm, which was okay; some council machinery at the nearby depot from shortly after sun-up which was okay, and a group of campers playing loud music through the night which was not so okay. Pleasant views over the water for the handful of vans who arrive at the right time.

Great quiet spot. Amenities are older but spotlessly clean relatively flat with lots of space to spread out.

Great spot to camp, very neat & tidy & right by the river which was lovely to sit by & chill. . I had a tent & felt very safe. Campsite wasn't overcrowded. Great facilities in the camp kitchen which was a real treat & it was also a great place to meet other travellers while cooking dinner. Very friendly & welcoming staff. Would highly recommend

We had a camper trailer and found the site very spacious and quiet. The kitchen was very clean and well equipped. The site is dog friendly.
