Formally a horse spelling farm, "Prado Downs" is now home to Shiralee Clydesdale Stud.  Offering both camping and a choice of a fully self contained 2 bedroom cabin or a fully self contained Winnebago accommodation, there is something for everyone. While you're here, book a horse and carriage ride (extra charge), feed the horses and pat the foals.  We hope you enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and between March and September we ramp it up with activities of all sorts. Campsites can be on the slightly undulating, open lawn area, where there is bore water  available.  Or down by the dry creek under the gum trees. Construction is underway to provide tank water, and a Camp Kitchen. The flushing toilets and showers are up and running! While you're here, help feed the horses or pat the foals. Collect the eggs, or have a drink around the communal camp fire. Want quiet time - each site has its own smaller fire pit! 15 minutes drive to Rockhampton - Or n your way to Emu Park Beach, you can visit the Camel Farm, or the Koorana Crocodile Farm.Pick your location, mostly level areas available with mowed grassed areas. Some areas over looking the playground; some overlooking the dam.

Camping with the Clydesdales
Good but not great camp.
Camp supervisor is very kind and helpful and loves a chat. The farm is a bit run down and the toilet/showers are a bit rough but useable. The Clydesdales loved the carrots we gave them.

Great spot next to the dam , animals were very cool too and the dogs were very friendly. Wayne was very helpful with directions and choosing a spot.

Nice, quiet farm stay with horses, goats and cows. We felt the facilities were a bit under maintained for what we were charged per night but the kids enjoyed themselves.

We were welcomed by the owner )along with some cows and puppies) 😀 Loved how peaceful the place was. The place had a small playground which the kidss absoultely loved!!

Amazing camp! Loved the animals walking around freely throughout the camps. The horses were beautiful and so friendly! Loved watching the baby goats playing around.
