Craigie Knowe Vineyard is a working vineyard and cellar door, set on 20 hectares, with 5 hectares under vine. It is the oldest vineyard on the beautiful East Coast of Tasmania. The homestead was built in 1836 and is one of the most photographed houses in Tasmania The cellar door is open 11-4, and offers chocolate and wine pairings, and normal tastings. We also have a restaurant on site open from 11:30 - 3:00 daily during summer. It is a beautiful vineyard with plenty of outside seating. There are also 5 other cellar doors within 10 minutes of the property, so it's a great basecamp for wine lovers! We offer a Big Breakfast Thursday through to Monday. Needs to be booked on arrival. We have plenty of level ground, ideal for pulling up for a night or several. Please note, all campers must be self-contained, with their own toilet, and we kindly ask you take all waste with you. Just outside the property, the Swan River flows past, a great place to cool off on hot days, sometimes there are fish there too. Swansea is 16km away and Bicheno is 26km away. Both towns have IGA supermarkets, bottle shops and restaurants, and plenty of history. Freycinet National Park is 40 minutes, and makes for a great day trip, with beautiful walks, fantastic scenery, and of course iconic Wine Glass Bay.Sites are allocated on arrival, with plenty of level ground, and all with lovely views and privacy. You'll be able to park up next to the Pinot Noir vines, a short walk to the cellar door area, where there are plenty of tables and chairs. Our Restaurant is open Thursday through to Monday each week for lunch. Sample menu is shown in photos. We also offer a big Breakfast Thursday through Monday, need to be booked on arrival. All guests need to be self-contained, with their own toilet please.

Craigie Knowe Vineyard
Really peaceful site on a vineyard with the added bonus of being able to do a wine tasting and not having to drive anywhere afterwards. Milo the German shepherd is a lovely dog as well.

Packed up and left at 2am.
We packed up and left in the dark at 2am as one of the staff was playing psy-trance on the event speakers. Contacted the host at midnight who then lowered the music but machine gun beats at 150bm you can feel in your soul, no matter the volume. It was so bad we packed up and drove back to hobart in the dark at 2am preferring to risk the drive and wildlife which we would never normally do. I get we're just camping and it's your property but honestly we would have gone elsewhere if we knew. Super thankful we didn't have our kids with us.

Good camping spot close to Bicheno
Really pretty aspect down a village road; we camped alongside the road but the only traffic we heard were that of the neighbouring sheep. We grabbed some wine and a cheese platter to enjoy the evening. About 20 minutes to Bicheno. No facilities so you need to have your own porta-loo - no camp fires allowed. We took our two hounds on lead which was an added bonus.
