The site is in a simple, level grassed paddock situated within easy access off a country road, in Mowbanna. 10 minutes up the road is Dip Falls and The Big Tree. Along the way you will pass Blue Hills Honey Farm and The Colony Cafe (well worth the calories!). Back down the road towards the highway is the Millicent Valley walking trail and once back to the highway junction you can walk along several long, sandy beaches or head east to find Rocky Cape National Park with spectacular hiking tracks, swimming and fishing spots. Pets welcome. Campfires permitted, BYO wood or please just come and see us and we can organise some wood for you.The site is in a simple, level grassed paddock situated within easy access off a country road, in Mowbanna.  10 minutes up the road is Dip Falls and The Big Tree. Pippa was super lovely and accommodating for us as we passed through the North West part of our trip to Tassie and needed a campsite close to Stanley and "The Nut" 😊 very beautiful area and road, just drive SUPER slow at night if you're coming back from viewing the Penguins in Stanley, there was wildlife crossing the everywhere!!

Basic, simple space as advertised
What you see is what you get. This is a paddock, no trees, no shade, nothing. Suits a 4wd or caravan (or both). Ground is hard and flat, surrounds are nice enough. There are no shops around, the site has no water, electric hook up, firewood or anything to do. However: that's perfect if you're self sufficient and just want a safe, comfy place to park up for the night, so it suited us just fine. It rained horizontal and the wind blew a gale, however the ground was firm and we pulled out the next morning with no issues. Only a few log trucks through the night, the main road is far enough away. I would not recommend for the non-self-sufficient camper or anyone in a 2wd/van If you require amenities, shops, etc, you are better off staying in Stanley which is a half an hour north. Make sure you buy eggs from the dogs (this will make perfect sense to you in the morning if you're going north).

Quiet Stopover with farm views
Great stop over for exploring inland waterfalls, creeks and more in North West Tasmania. Dip falls 15 min drive. Stanley 30 min drive north. Great directions, easy access. Need to be self contained, no facilities closeby.

It was a site really close to Dip Falls, Big Tree and nice beaches and a short drive to beautiful Stanley. The locals were gorgeous and Pippa was lovely and welcoming. She even offered amenities at the community hall for use but we were self-sufficent so didn't need them. We enjoyed a gaggle of 20 free ranging honking geese who joined us each day.

This was a surprising little spot. We only stayed one night here after visiting dip falls. It's only a paddock, no trees or shade but it was very quiet and relaxing. The sunset was lovely to watch and the owners were so nice!

A base to explore from.
As promised this really is a cow paddock, no shelter or shade, but it is convenient for some good 4wd tracks, the Dip falls and other north-west attractions. We used it basically as a dormitory spot, travelling out for most of each day, which worked fine for us. The host is super friendly, even supplied us with firewood for a campfire. Recommend this camp if you are looking to leave the van somewhere and explore. Thanks Pip.
