If you're looking for a quiet, private nights stay in your motorhome, caravan, tent or swag, then look no further. A private property of 30 acres, surrounded by the bushland of the Lockwood State Forest. Tucked away in a very quiet tranqil location, you will have nothing but privacy and piece and quiet. The perfect time of year to enjoy camp fires and the great outdoors. A Place We Call Home offers you the perfect night's stay to relax and unwind before your journey continues. We can also cater to larger groups and private events. We have recently installed a camp kitchen and bbq facilities for you to enjoy. Our property is the perfect place to enjoy gold detecting, bush walking, bird watching, bike riding or just some well-earned rest. The property has direct access to the State Forest with multiple walking/bike riding options and gold-detecting opportunities. There are also kayaks on the dam for our guests to enjoy. Only 15 mins from Bendigo and local wineries, and 1.5 hours from Melbourne. All guests must be completely self-sufficient including toilet, water, and power. The Bendigo region offers many attractions including the Sandhurst Goal Tour, Golden Dragon Museum, Central Deborah Goldmine , the Bendigo Pottery and of course the Vintage Tram Tour that show cases the best of this beautiful city. There are over 20 vineyards and wineries in the region, including Balgownie Estate, Black Wallaby Wines, Blackjack Wines and Connor Park Winery with most wineries run by the families who founded them. There are plenty of opportunities for prospecting in the area, the region has been famous for gold for over 150 years. Visit the Coitek Gold Centre in Maryborough for special maps suggesting areas most likely to produce nuggets, or book a tour while your there to learn the art of detecting with an expert. We hope to see you soon.

Thank you Melissa. We thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful and relaxing couple of days on your property. Loved watching the animals at home in your backyard. We will be back again…. Not just to collect the crocs we left deep in the dam ;) but to bring back the kids with us too.

A lovely location and hosts. Very quiet and peaceful. We left our van for part of our time here while we did a trip to Melbourne. We’re very comfortable that our van was safe and secure. No issues at all Look forward to next time and would highly recommend.

Hidden Gem
What a great campsite! Great family friendly camp spot tucked away from the crowds. Nice and quiet with lots of wildlife. Dam central to all campsites that has free kayaks provided. Sites spread out well so no neighbour noise. Little camp kitchen next to the dam and large fire pit provided. Melissa welcomed us on arrival and was very accomodating throughout our stay and they even went out of their way to offer assistance with an issue I was having with the water pump on my van. Would stay again if we get back to the area.

Picture perfect and peaceful spot
Well maintained sites and land. Very accommodating and friendly hosts. Beautiful scenery and the most quiet relaxing spot we have camped at for a long time. Having the view of the dam with the lazy windmill going around was picture perfect. We will return another time.
