Billabong Flats Farm is a 100 Acre property enhanced by 1km of King River access in the heart of Wangaratta, North East Victoria. It has an abundance of birdlife including Kookaburras, Kingfishers, Blue Wrens, Cormorants and many types of water birds. The property is in a fantastic location to the Wangaratta township as it is only 1.5 kms drive into town to get all your supplies if required including, Aldi, Woolworths, Coles, Dan Murphys, Kmart, Camping Stores, Petrol Stations, Cinema, Bowling Alley and the wonderful choice of Hotels, Restaurants and Take away options if required. It is surrounded by picturesque green countryside laden with ancient Red Rivergum Trees and billabongs with access to river frontage for fishing and one area has a swimming hole for those hot summer days. The river is ideal for swimming, tubing, floating and fishing. Choose either to relax with a book and a glass of wine and do nothing or go and explore the many attractions of the wonderful North East area including the beautiful King Valley, Beechworth, Bright, Yarrawonga and Rutherglen plus many other gorgeous areas that have Art Trails or Silo Art Trails, all of which are 30-60 minutes drive from the property. Billabong Flats Farm sites are very spacious with each section private from other Campers with a fire pit provided plus an abundance of open area for recreation for kids and dogs to run around. The Swimming Hole Bush Camp is an extra large riverside bush campsite that could accommodate a large group of Vans (10 at least). It has a designated fire pit and Campers will need to have own Toilet/Shower amenities and be and leave no trace behind when leaving us. Accessible for most types of vehicles. Dog friendly if well behaved and controlled and won't chase the Cattle. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place, firewood for sale (see Extras). We are close to the region’s attractions including 15mins drive to Brown Brothers Winery in Milawa, many Lookouts and National Parks, Lake William Hovell, Restaurants, Wineries and Distilleries of this special area.

Beautiful riverside camping
Kerryn and John's property is fantastic. Each of the spots are well isolated from each other and you feel like you are truly bush camping (despite shops only being 5 minutes drive away. As we were there in the middle of winter with negative overnight temps, the fireplace was fantastic to sit around before hiding in bed from the cold. This will definitely be on our list for a return trip in the future. Thanks for a great stay.

So central and private
We had a fantastic 4 night stay at Kerryn and John’s place. They are lovely and welcoming hosts who provide a few little extra camping amenities on each site making our stay even more enjoyable. Lots of space, very private sites. So close to Wangaratta and very central if you want to explore the region such as Beechworth and the lovely wineries at Millewa & King Valley. Our dog loved it too! We look forward to returning soon.

Absolutely gorgeous property situated a few minutes drive from Wangaratta and its shops. Not that you need them, everything you could possibly need is there at the property. Space, private swimming areas, beautiful trees and just serenity. Fire pits with seating around them, stars shining down on you, it was pretty perfect. Hosts very lovely and really enjoyed our chat with Kerryn .

Ample space to spread out
This glorious, extremely well kept property is a convenient 5 minutes from town but feels like a world away. A friendly greeting on arrival & escorted to our pristine site. Sites were well sign posted & very spread out ensuring absolute privacy. We opted to purchase wood which was there waiting for us on arrival, in abundance!! Kangaroos bouncing in the frosty grass this morning was a nice wake up view. Absolutely loved our stay, Thank you so much for having us Kerryn & family X

Our second stay at the King River site, and we'll be going back again! Kerryn & John are excellent hosts, the site is beautifully maintained, private and a great amount of space for a group to spread out. Supplied firewood is generous for the cost. Our group had another awesome weekend of camping and we look forward to staying again in the future. Thanks Kerryn & John, highly recommended, A+!
