91 Gordons Bridge Road was once part of a pine plantation that had been planted in the late 60's and harvested just prior to the Black Saturday fires. Across the road from the Kinglake National Park, it is surrounded by protected flora and fauna. Victoria's Pink heath, wattles and tea tree provide a pleasant backdrop in season. It is not an uncommon site to see an echidna or two on the property, with black wallabies, kangaroos and wombats often seen grazing on pasture in the evening. The mud turrets are the home of endangered land yabbies and Lyrebirds have been seen in the area. Feral deer have come to inhabit nearby properties and sometimes wonder down the track. Birds watchers will enjoy a variety of bird life that inhabit the area including eagle hawks, fairy wrens, kookaburras, rosellas, parrots and yellow tailed black cockatoos when in season. The area is a popular spot for hikers with the start of the Mountain Creek trail only a few kms down Gordons Bridge Road and serious cyclists train regularly, on Mount Slide, especially on the weekend. For the serious wine lover the property is within 15km of the Yarra Valley Wine Growing area with many wineries offering tastings.

Dam View RV/Camper/Tent Site
Cold, rainy, windy... perfect
I spent a very wet and windy couple of nights at Dam View, with temperatures down to 1 degree overnight. The site is easy to find and access, but if you're a tent camper be aware that there are only a couple of flat spots at Dam View suitable for smaller tents only. Toilet inside the concrete tank was clean. Despite the weather I enjoyed the tranquility and didn't see another person all weekend. Very weak Telstra phone signal, no Optus coverage at all, if that's important to you. On the whole, highly recommended for a quick getaway not too far from Melbourne.

Nice spot in nature at king lake
Lovely little spot in king lake. We took our small caravan for its first test run and the dam site was perfect for us. Birds and nature nice and peaceful was a great night away

Kinglake East End Campsite
Peaceful, secluded and private. We had a great stay at this campsite, will be back for sure 😊

So sad I never saw it
I’m sorry I cannot review this experience. I was extremely unwell and ended up camping in my van in my friend’s driveway. Sorry I never made it. Hopefully I can try again another time.

Dam View RV/Camper/Tent Site
Overall a great experience- a great location for local attractions. Note that the ‘power pole’ is QUITE far away, that even out LONGEST power cord (probably about 25 meters) did not reach even a quarter of the way to the pole. Granted we could have parked ‘near the shed’ but it still would not have reached. We managed without.

Beautiful tranquil spot in a great location for walks, wineries and quaint country towns. The dam site seemed the pick of the bunch lots of space and privacy and cheerful frogs to serenade you at night, having some comfy fire chairs and a decent fire pit topped it all off.
