Cheela Plains Station is a family-owned and managed working cattle station nestled in the semi-arid, pastoral rangelands of the Pilbara in northern Western Australia. Our station stay is a welcome stop for travelers on the Nanutarra-Munjina Road between the World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef and Karijini National Park. On a station the size of Cheela Plains there are plenty of amazing locations to explore. Our self-guided walks and trails make for adventure-filled days. Stay a little longer and explore them all. We have Telstra and Optus signal, hot showers, coin-operated washing machines, a communal fire pit and camp kitchen with a fridge, stove and sink. Children 6yrs to 15years half price and 0 to 5yrs are FOC. If electing to stay at the station stay campground for two or more nights, you have the option of a complimentary Gorge Safari Self Drive 4X4, which is a true taste of the outback off the beaten track. The Red Plains Café is open daily from 7:30am till 2:30pm, serving barista coffee, cake, snacks and lunch.

Very helpful staff, good clean amenities and site. Their 4 x 4 tour around parts of the property was worthwhile, with an information sheet and map to guide us along the way.

Camping under a big old sky
Exceptional meet and greet and from there on everything was great. Excellent facilities, community fire pit, big skies. Even river stone underfoot around camping areas to make camping so much cleaner than just the red dirt and grit of the plains (also beautiful). I like to run too, and recommend the track well beyond the 'cave' site, just follow the fence line😀

Great campsite!
This place was awesome! It’s a proper caravan park with a fun outback community vibe - I felt totally safe. Amazing hot showers in a rustic outback setting. Cafe on site and lovely staff around the park. Would absolutely stay again next time I’m travelling through.

Great Hosts who made you feel you had known them along time. So easy. Loved the camp burgers by the fire. Great amenities. And to top off being given a set of keys to open gates on the property and a mud map to take us on self 4WD tour. A fabulous couple of days. Recommend a two night stay and go the self drive tour. Lots of activities for kids. Love love loved it
