WE PREFER GROUPS Please. We are a grain and sheep farming property situated on the Mortlock River about one and a half hours from Perth. Great for weekend campers or people needing a spur-of-the-moment break. Dogs welcome. We have many different 'sites' for people depending on a) if they have their own toileting requirements, b) number / age of children and adults, and c) size and style of camping. A septic toilet is available - please advice when booking if you need Toilet access. Those who are self-sufficent have more options re remote sites. Each site can have a campfire (in season) but - BYO WOOD please. We do not want people disturbing or taking fallen timber and river debris because of the Eco-environment of this location. This includes the children ripping off branches and dragging timber. Please take all rubbish with you. Pets are OK - please pick up after your dogs - other campers use these sites. Consider a leash around the camping area. Your dogs can run free while you are walking - but be conscious of any nearby stock. We aim to make your camping experience a special time away, just you and the she-oaks, starry nights and occasional wildlife. Please indicate intended arrival time and if you need toilet access.

Green spring crops
We went early spring, and arrived to scenic green crops over rolling hills with campsites nestled amount trees, a beautiful drive in, and close enough to Perth for a night or two, Joe meet us at the gate and lead us to our spot by the river, with room around the fire for two camper trailers and rooftop pop up all together on one site - would highly recommend

A Riverside Retreat
We recently enjoyed a wonderful weekend camping at Near the River (seasonal) on Trapwell Farm. The campsite was absolutely idyllic, offering a private and picturesque setting right by the river. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Cathie and Joe were fantastic hosts, providing helpful information and ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Their friendly and welcoming nature added to the overall charm of the experience. We would highly recommend this campsite to anyone seeking a peaceful and relaxing getaway surrounded by nature.

Excellent spot so peacefull
Both Joe and Cathie are very nice,and helped us find the best spot for our first trip with our puppy. Very clean and peacefull cant wait to go again.

Beautiful spot!
Such a magic spot next to the river! People are really easy going and let us in once we arrived. They took us to a really nice spot by the river and we stayed a couple nights! Would highly recommend.
