NOTE: This campsite is only accessible by 4x4 as of 7/8/18. High clearance is not enough unless the Forest Service grates the road. We drove 9 miles down the mountain to Lupine Campground on July 7th. Torrential rains came through and washed out a portion of the road making it a very rocky dried up riverbed. We made it up the mountain safely by catching a ride with other hikers but our high clearance vehicle was stranded for a day and required a 4x4 and winch to get it out.
