Our 33+ acre, picturesque, tranquil property is situated in the Tamihi Recreational Area just south of Chilliwack, British Columbia. Three sides of the property are heavily forested with the Chilliwack River bordering the fourth side. It's only 20 minutes from town but far enough to enjoy the peaceful and serene offerings of nature. The property has a 20 x 60' covered picnic area, a large beach suitable for swimming in summer and fall, and it is also a world-class fishing spot. It has unlimited mountain trails and logging roads for ATVs, mountain bikers/hikers and with Class I - IV rapids, is also a fantastic area for whitewater kayaking and rafting. The national kayaking team trains just up from us and Chilliwack River Rafting is very close by. We occasionally host weddings in the meadow and covered picnic area as well. Your QUIET, well-mannered, leashed (at all times) pet is welcome as long as you pick up after them. There is a minimum of 3 nights on long weekends. Children MUST be accompanied by a parent at all times! We are in a very sensitive, natural environment & want it left exactly as you found it so it can be enjoyed by others. We've unfortunately had children cutting down small trees, ripping moss & bark off of trees & damaging playground equipment. For some reason Hipcamp doesn't show my individual sites, so I will list them here. Some say Adults only (a minimum of 19 yrs)due to sharp drop offs to the river and undercut banks that would be unsafe for children. SITES: Site 21. Hayward Farms

We have a 6.5-acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a dog named Jack and a few cats. Our property backs onto Hayward Lake which is great for paddle boarding, kayaking and swimming. There are hiking trails to Ruskin Dam and around Hayward Lake. You can also enjoy fishing/floating across the street at the Stave River. Located north of Mission, BC, Hayward Lake offers an array of outdoor recreation for all seasons. Popular for its sandy beach and swimming in the warm summer months, or for the non-motorized boating making it ideal for Kayaking and canoeing year-round. There is also a specialized dog-friendly beach area where you are sure to make a splash and enjoy a fantastic summer spot together. Please note that the trails to the lake from our property are not OUR trails and we are not responsible for grooming them. They are in fairly good condition and is a forest hike. We have 7 campsites to choose from, we hope that you enjoy your stay! Site 1 - Is located at the top of the property, behind the stables. It shares a pit toilet with site 4, which is nearby. BRING YOUR OWN TOILET PAPER. These two campsites are perfect for larger groups. These two campsites are closet to the trail that leads to the lake. Please note that the trail is not our property and belongs to BC Hydro…it is simply an access to the lake. It is a 3 minute hike to the beautiful lake. Some of our other campers may be walking through to access the trail. Site 2 - Is located on one of the deep corners of the driveway. This is a future glamp site location. Under construction. This site faces the Stave River (west) where you have gorgeous sunsets. Site 3 - Is located above Site 2 at the next deep corner of the driveway, also facing west. This is also a future glamp site location. PLEASE NOTE THAT SITES 2 AND 3 ARE JUST OFF OUR DRIVEWAY, SO PLEASE EXPECT SOME MINOR TRAFFIC. THESE SITES HAVE A ROUGH TOILET SYSTEM - 5 GALLON BUCKET WITH WOOD SHAVINGS AND SNAP ON TOILET LID. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN TOILET PAPER. Site 4 - Please see the notes for Site 1 above. Site 5 - Our WEE LITTLE CAMPSITE. This is our smallest campsite. It too is located on our driveway; just adjacent to the driveway. Late spring and early fall you get beautiful sunsets. This site is good for 2 adults only (NO KIDS). It is located just above a large downhill slope. It too has a Rough toilet system / compost toilet. Site 6 - Is a field site located at the top of the driveway. This is currently our largest campsite. It is a good spot for larger groups. Has a compost toilet as indicated above. Again - bring your own toilet paper. OVERFLOW SITE - This site is reserved typically for campers with small children as it is located in our fenced in yard. No pets are allowed in this area. This has a compost toilet so please bring your own toilet paper. Please note that we provide a 5 gallon jug of water from the local artesian spring. Please use what you need and contact us if you need more water. Our home is run on a shallow well and often have very limited water in the summer months. Final note is that all sites are strictly non-smoking.

Living Large on Chilliwack River

Enjoy the beautiful acres right on the Chilliwack River! A wonderful family-friendly (including pets!) getaway with endless activities nearby. Our campsite is available in the spring and summer and is just 20 minutes from the city of Chilliwack, BC. We provide a fire pit and campfires are allowed as long as there is no fire ban. The sites are quite private but there will be other campers nearby. We try to keep a large amount of space between sites and some are separated by trees. We are a walk in tent only site- parking is very close, 30 second walk. We can also provide access to electricity so you can charge your phones or other devices if needed. There is no cell reception, but we do have wifi. Potable water is available. We supply natural spring water but you must bring your own jug. We live in an adventure playground! Activities nearby include hiking, white rapid river rafting, fishing, watching bald eagles, Cultus Lake water slides and adventure park, mountain biking, and more! The stargazing at night is beautiful as there is no light pollution here. We look forward to hosting you!

Forager Hill Farm on Hayward Lake

Our 5 acre forested farm backs onto Hayward Lake and has the Stave River at the front of the property. Our farm has ducks, chickens, rabbits, and a collection of cats. There are wild berry bushes throughout the property and the surrounding forest. Lake access is private (people could hike in or canoe up, but normally we have it to ourselves) and the lake itself is a great spot for wildlife watching (beavers, deer, bats, fish, bears, owls, eagles, osprey etc.). The Stave River in the front of the property offers a more sunny spot for swimming and fishing. The Hayward Reservoir Trail circumnavigates the whole lake and the trail entrance is a 5 minute walk from the cabin. The cabin site includes a picnic table and outhouse. We provide fresh spring water and campfire wood can be supplied ($10 a bundle). The cabin is insulated and can be heated with the wood stove so it is suitable for use all year.

Lucinda features all the comforts of home snugly assembled in one cozy room. Great for a quick stop, weekend stay, or fun alternative place to have a break. Lucinda has a toaster, tea kettle, pots, cast-iron pan, and all your basic kitchen needs. Feel free to use the stove-top to heat something up or call in a meal with SkipTheDishes or DoorDash. Due to the size of the trailer, it may not be suitable for children. There is not currently a TV, but you will have access to WiFi, so be sure to bring your laptop to cuddle up and watch your favorite shows or movies in bed! The bathroom is, frankly, a fairy-sized wet room – Lucinda is economical like that. It will give you a decent shower though and we provide bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The toilet is flushable, and we provide RV toilet paper that is made specifically for our RV plumbing system. The water heater works well and heats up pretty quickly. However, it is a standard RV water heater which means you'll have about 5-6 minutes of hot water until it heats up again. The shower head has a stop button to control water usage while you are showering. Lastly, please do not be surprised that Lucinda is small; she is small. However, we find her to be a comfortable resting place. -Guest access- You may use the outdoor areas located directly outside of the RV but please respect the area around the adjacent private residence as off limits.

We have a 6.5-acre developing hobby farm currently with fruit trees, a garden, a dog named Jack and a few cats. Our property backs onto Hayward Lake which is great for paddle boarding, kayaking and swimming. There are hiking trails to Ruskin Dam and around Hayward Lake. You can also enjoy fishing/floating across the street at the Stave River. Located north of Mission, BC, Hayward Lake offers an array of outdoor recreation for all seasons. Popular for its sandy beach and swimming in the warm summer months, or for the non-motorized boating making it ideal for Kayaking and canoeing year-round. There is also a specialized dog-friendly beach area where you are sure to make a splash and enjoy a fantastic summer spot together. Please note that the trails to the lake from our property are not OUR trails and we are not responsible for grooming them. They are in fairly good condition and is a forest hike. We have 7 campsites to choose from, we hope that you enjoy your stay! Site 1 - Is located at the top of the property, behind the stables. It shares a pit toilet with site 4, which is nearby. BRING YOUR OWN TOILET PAPER. These two campsites are perfect for larger groups. These two campsites are closet to the trail that leads to the lake. Please note that the trail is not our property and belongs to BC Hydro…it is simply an access to the lake. It is a 3 minute hike to the beautiful lake. Some of our other campers may be walking through to access the trail. Site 2 - Is located on one of the deep corners of the driveway. This is a future glamp site location. Under construction. This site faces the Stave River (west) where you have gorgeous sunsets. Site 3 - Is located above Site 2 at the next deep corner of the driveway, also facing west. This is also a future glamp site location. PLEASE NOTE THAT SITES 2 AND 3 ARE JUST OFF OUR DRIVEWAY, SO PLEASE EXPECT SOME MINOR TRAFFIC. THESE SITES HAVE A ROUGH TOILET SYSTEM - 5 GALLON BUCKET WITH WOOD SHAVINGS AND SNAP ON TOILET LID. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN TOILET PAPER. Site 4 - Please see the notes for Site 1 above. Site 5 - Our WEE LITTLE CAMPSITE. This is our smallest campsite. It too is located on our driveway; just adjacent to the driveway. Late spring and early fall you get beautiful sunsets. This site is good for 2 adults only (NO KIDS). It is located just above a large downhill slope. It too has a Rough toilet system / compost toilet. Site 6 - Is a field site located at the top of the driveway. This is currently our largest campsite. It is a good spot for larger groups. Has a compost toilet as indicated above. Again - bring your own toilet paper. OVERFLOW SITE - This site is reserved typically for campers with small children as it is located in our fenced in yard. No pets are allowed in this area. This has a compost toilet so please bring your own toilet paper. Please note that we provide a 5 gallon jug of water from the local artesian spring. Please use what you need and contact us if you need more water. Our home is run on a shallow well and often have very limited water in the summer months. Final note is that all sites are strictly non-smoking.

Forager Hill Farm on Hayward Lake

Our 5 acre forested farm backs onto Hayward Lake and has the Stave River at the front of the property. Our farm has ducks, chickens, rabbits, and a collection of cats. There are wild berry bushes throughout the property and the surrounding forest. Lake access is private (people could hike in or canoe up, but normally we have it to ourselves) and the lake itself is a great spot for wildlife watching (beavers, deer, bats, fish, bears, owls, eagles, osprey etc.). The Stave River in the front of the property offers a more sunny spot for swimming and fishing. The Hayward Reservoir Trail circumnavigates the whole lake and the trail entrance is a 5 minute walk from the cabin. The cabin site includes a picnic table and outhouse. We provide fresh spring water and campfire wood can be supplied ($10 a bundle). The cabin is insulated and can be heated with the wood stove so it is suitable for use all year.

The sites are quite private but there will be other campers nearby. We try to keep a large amount of space between sites and some are separated by trees. We are a walk in tent only site- parking is very close, 30 second walk. We can also provide access to electricity so you can charge your phones or other devices if needed. There is no cell reception, but we do have wifi. Potable water is available. We supply natural spring water but you must bring your own jug. We live in an adventure playground! Activities nearby include hiking, white rapid river rafting, fishing, watching bald eagles, Cultus Lake water slides and adventure park, mountain biking, and more! Camping near Chilliwack guide

Overview

One-hundred kilometres east of Vancouver along the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1), Chilliwack feels suburban, with a population approaching 100,000. Yet it’s a base for outdoor adventures in several provincial and regional parks. Trek the hiking trails in Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park or climb Mount Cheam for views across the Fraser Valley. Go kayaking, canoeing, or boating on Cultus Lake, rafting along the Chilliwack River, or biking from farm to farm. Campers can find sites at Cultus Lake or Chilliwack Lake provincial parks, along the Chilliwack River in campgrounds like Vedder River, and in RV parks around the area.

When to go

Located near BC’s west coast, Chilliwack has warm dry summers and cool wet winters, with temperate spring and fall weather in between. Campers should come mid-week in summer, if possible, since weekends are usually quite busy. You might find campsites more easily in the spring or fall. Although winters can be rainy with temperatures above freezing, be prepared for snow at higher elevations.

Know before you go

As British Columbia’s seventh-largest city, Chilliwack has plenty of stores where you can buy food and drink, camping supplies, and other outdoor gear.
British Columbia’s Fraser Valley is an agricultural region, so stock up on fresh produce at local farm stands. Blueberries are a highlight during the summer, as is fresh corn in the late summer or early fall.
Planning to camp in one of the provincial parks? Both Cultus Lake and Chilliwack Lake get very busy in summer, so reserve your campsite in advance.
