You will be the only booking on our complete 70 acres, so you can enjoy this piece of country in privacy. Cook all your own food over a campfire, or try area restaurants or pizza (5+ km away). A tent structure with a 'thunder box' set-up brings you privacy for bathroom needs. You will be expected to dispose of your waste in the compost bins provided. There are two tables and seating for four, a swing to enjoy gazing over the river, and a few other spaces to discover. Wake to the gobble of wild turkeys and possibly the yipping of coon kits or wild coyotes. Bring your pet. You can drive your own 4x4 near (but not onto) the campsite when it's dry. The last hill is carry-in. Or you can choose to begin your detox with a 1 km moderately challenging hike through woods, fields and meadow while we run your supplies back. Buy campfire bundles or gather your own from abundant amounts of deadfall in the woods. During the day you can wade up the river or dangle a line. Every week of the year, the river changes and offers its own experience, sometimes full and fast, and sometimes slow and meandering. We welcome you to harvest the woods for berries, build wigwams with downed wood, and wander the trails with your canine family member to enjoy off-leash roaming. Once you turn in for the night, you will sleep well in the quiet with darkness high-lighting the stars. Please remember to remove all garbage and recycling from campsites, a compost bin is available on site by the garden. Learn more about this land: Surrounded by mature trees, you'll be camping out back of the property of your hosts, Mark and Joanne. In a quiet and relaxed setting, you will be able to rest and unwind. Firepit and firewood are available. In the heart of Niagara, and in the heart of wine country, it's just minutes to various wineries and wine tours. Niagara Falls is about 30 minutes away as well as various trails and parks. Balls Falls and the Bruce Trail are minutes away. Central to 3 small towns, Grimsby, Smithville, and Beamsville, you'll have many restaurants to choose from. Stop in and unwind! Traveling with others? We have more than one site. Hidden Peace is an RV only site, meaning for travel trailers (with attached towing vehicle), and motorhomes only. No cars and tenting.

Well-kept trails to explore throughout. We are proud to have made the runner-up list for best Hipcamp in Ontario 2023 The terrain is mostly flat but interesting. Campsites are private with good separation from each other. Sites contain a picnic table and fire pit. Campfires are permitted according to our approved burn plan before midnight. 5G/LTE cellphone service is good for Bell, Rogers and Telus networks. FREE Firewood can be gathered on the forest floor or pay for on-site pre-cut wood. Outhouses are close to campsites....but not too close 💩 Port Rowan is only 12 minutes away by car, most amenities can be purchased only 1 minute away at the local Busy Bee gas station. We are situated in the middle of a Recreation Hotspot! Our site is within 3 minutes of paddling the Big Creek, 3 to 10 minutes to several A+ hiking trails, 15 minutes to amazing freshwater beaches of Long Point and Turkey Point, and the area is abound with cycling trails, motorcycle routes, geocaching, boat launches (we have room here for your boat!), cider/wine tours, and more! We are the perfect basecamp for everything the Long Point Bay area has to offer We have some great watering holes nearby like burning kiln winery, hounds of Erie and Charlotteville brewing company. Birders Paradise! The ‘Long Point Birding Area’ in Norfolk County is one of Canada’s premier birding locales. Our 14 acre property is a quiet oasis on several biking trails (G2G, Cottonwood Road, Trans Canada Trail) and a very short drive to famous Elora (7 min) and St. Jacobs (20 min). We have a beautiful green acreage with a picturesque pond and privacy with open and treed space and the promise of gorgeous sunsets almost every night.
