Forest courtyard with fire pit, cooking grill and picnic table. 20-second walk to a VERY clean and private outhouse. Cabin is solar powered. Electricity for lights and phone charging. Firewood and water for drinking and washing all included. The forest cabin has walls made of straw bales covered with plaster. It feels like you're inside an adobe building in southwest USA. Deep window sills with curved corners. Built in 2002, it's one the first straw bale buildings in Ontario. It's as gorgeous today as the day it was built! Our 50-acre slice of heaven has it a bit of everything for your private retreat. Trails, forests, fields, meadows, rolling hills, and panoramic views. We live at the front of the farm property, pretty far from the cabin. So you have privacy, but we're available by text or phone if you need us. Want some quiet time? Looking for a slow down space? Kick back in the cabin or take stroll on the quiet forest trails. Interested in local food? Explore our organic vegetable fields, check out the greenhouses, or hang out with our happy chickens and sheep. Ready for a unique dinner experience? Braemar Valley Nature Sanctuary

A nature enthusiasts private 18 acre backcountry-style getaway. Located in the beautiful Braemar Valley- 10 minutes from Woodstock, Ontario. Pine/oak/walnut stands, babbling brook, wildflower fields. 3+ km's of hiking trails through the forest, along the fields, across the creek and overlooking the valley. Cyclists can try out the km's of scenic gravel roads in the area. The camp site is located in a creek-side wildflower field surrounded by silver maples, cottonwoods and pine stands and has a thunder box, picnic table, and fire pit. ZERO TOLERANCE policy towards disrespectful behaviour to the land or neighbors. FYI regarding Deer hunting season. There's no hunting permitted on the property but there is on adjacent properties, so you may hear activity in the area. We are a short drive to Guelph Lake, the Elora Gorge, Guelph to Goderich rail trail, and a 25-minute drive to St Jacob's farmers market. And a 1.4 km walk to a small country market and bakery. A great site for families that you can call home and plan day trips around the area, or hang out at the campsite. Firewood is available for purchase on-site. We have 3 campsites that are spread out on 4 acres of grass. 1 site is used for temporary summer trailers, 2 are for camping. Pets are welcome, but keep them on a leash. Please remember to remove all garbage and recycling from campsites, a compost bin is available on site by the garden. A portable toilet is available from May 15 to the end of thanksgiving weekend in October. We look forward to hosting you!

Sweet Pond Camping

A peaceful nature space with a large magical pond (the size of an olympic swimming pool) to bask in, plus a 44 acre forest to roam. You will have access to clean water to swim in (no soaps or detergents in the pond please, we also swim in the pond regularly so we might see you in there!), clean water to drink + wash dishes in, lots of safe flat parking for cars and camper vans, lots of safe flat grass for tents, a giant forest, views of a few beautiful horses doing their own thing on our pastures (do not feed them or go within the fenced off horse areas), loads of birds, dragonflies, butterflies and more! We require quiet after 9pm, and before 9am. No excessive substance use please. No substance use if you are going to swim. Private simple camping toilet/outhouse setup with view of nature. Water for washing hands. No shower. We moved here because we thought it was beautiful, and we hope to share that with others. We live here, and enjoy the water and land every day. Looking forward to welcoming you and sharing our space!
