Heavens Acres

2 sites · Lodging100 acres · Dornoch, ON
Heavens Acres has been a stop over since the 1850's for people travelling by horse from Toronto to Owen Sound. We have 100 acres surrounded by another 200 acres of conservation land. There is camping in the pine forest as well at the very back of the property where you will find a hardwood bush with trails. Please note that the hipcamp map shows a large body of water on the property, as does google driving maps. It is a marsh, not a lake. Google Earth shows it better. There is however, a creek and pond, but don't bring your boat. :) This is a "LEAVE NO TRACE" campsite, so please take all garbage when you leave.

Pat and Gerry's Simple Solitude

3 sites · RVs, Tents80 acres · Kincardine, ON
Pat grew up only 2.5 miles from where she lives now with her husband Gerry. The grandmother of her best friend owned the farm when she was a little girl and she played in the house all the time growing up. Pat purchased the farm in 1997 and has been here ever since.Fun Fact: Pat's first pony named Scout, grew up on this farm. He raised the kids of 2 different families before he was given to her by her parents for her 4th birthday. Thus began her lifelong passion for all things equine.

Wild Forest Camping & Beach Uproad

3 sites · Tents200 acres · Meaford, ON
Learn more about this land:The land is framed by the historic Bruce Trail to the north, Billy Bishop airport (only a few small prop-private flights daily) to the west, Concession 6 N on the East, and Highway 26 on the south end of the property.  There is a forest on the north end of our land where the bruce trail runs through (C) and the farm sits more to the south end (A). There's a pine-forest that one has to hike into (B- see map in photos). Generally, the area is close to swimming in Lake Huron, the property is large (100 hectares) and the neighborhood is large grain. This means you can have a chunk of the forest all to yourself. For area A you can drive in the main driveway and park by the house/ barn or on the field. Or walk to a camping spot. No 4 wheel drive is necessary. Please stay away from the Barn as it is dangerous to be close by. For area C you can access the fields from Concession 6 N at one of the gates past (North) of the driveway. You will need a 4-wheel drive to not get stuck in the field. Please do not park on the agricultural field. For area B You will park your car behind a gate right off Highway 26 and hike in to find a site to pitch a tent. There are about 3 spots for cars behind the first set of Pines. You might need a 4-wheel drive.  It's completely up to you where you set up camp.We ask that you do not light any open fires as this is a coniferous forest. Feel free to walk in as far you want to find your spot. If you walk too far you will come up to a field and the farmhouse. We ask that you do not camp on the agricultural fields.

Where to go

Bruce Peninsula National Park

Fifty minutes northwest of Wiarton, Bruce Peninsula National Park and its rugged trails, including Bruce Trail, showcase stunning cliff-top views of ancient cedar trees. Hike to the Grotto, which is accessible from Cyprus Lake Campground. Or, enjoy swimming, canoeing, and kayaking in Georgian Bay’s crystal-clear waters. In winter, snowshoe or cross-country ski on land that surrounds the lake. Campgrounds are accessible year-round and include amenities such as potable water taps, flush toilets, and firepits. Campers can choose between frontcountry and backcountry sites—or glamp in a yurt on-site.

Bluewater Park

Home of world-famous Wiarton Willie, Bluewater Park offers shorefront camping right in town. Take a swim in Colpoy's Bay—or try kayaking, canoeing, or boating instead. Anglers can also set up on the bay to catch local bass and trout. After a day in the water, hike more of Bruce Trail as it winds through surrounding woodlands. Campers can set up on park grounds in a tent or RV and access wifi, electric hookups, and washrooms.

Inglis Falls Conservation Area

Thirty minutes from Wiarton lies Inglis Falls Conservation Area. Discover its up-close beauty and view the stunning 18-meter waterfall cascading over layers of limestone. Or enjoy panoramic views of the falls from various lookout points. Hiking trails of all levels wind through scenic Bruce Peninsula. Hikers can stop and have lunch at on-site picnic areas, as well. Hipcampers will want to find a Hipcamp nearby since there are no campgrounds on-site.
