Creature comforts
Enjoy the comforts of home—including flush toilets, showers, and a kitchen.
Home is located in “town” but on a quiet street. There’s not a lot of land but there’s backyard treed and fenced front yard grass space with an outdoor fireplace. There’s spare rooms inside too if needed and use of a fully stocked kitchen for cooking and baking, and use of bathroom and laundry. Modest, artsy home. One friendly dog on site. I’d only charge a cleaning fee plus gratuities, smiles and friendship. You can put up your own tents in the yard, and/or cozy up on foamys in the house. I may put up a wall tent and glamp it out for couples. Or glamp out a cute garden shack… There’s an outdoor fireplace in the front with wood supplied and a small deck in the back both with complete view of the mountains. It’s pretty chill; Not a lot of rules just be respectful but enjoy and have fun! It’s just a base camp with a warm dry house: kitchen, bathroom, laundry, yard etc so you can explore the wilderness of Kluane and all the area has to offer. Google Kluane National Park and Reserve. There’s a visitors info Centre nearby. Or I can give advise and directions and the use of a topographical map and a hiking guide book (on loan) for your adventures. There’s an aluminum canoe here and one dirt jumper/mountain bike you can borrow from me free or there’s mountain bikes, canoes and kayaks to rent locally… The lakes, rivers, trails, mountains, hiking, climbing, camping, swimming, exploring, skiing and beauty in the area is endless…. You’ll want to check out Mount Logan Eco Lodge if you choose guided adventures…they have everything for outdoor enthusiasts and guides to take you further into remote areas of the park and reserve…. Back inside the house; you can cook/bake and mingle/socialize; there’s board games, poker chips, rummoli, cards and dice, dvd/bluray and movies. Back outside; Some things to see; you will find quaint Haines Alaska to the S.E. on the Pacific, only a 2.5 hrs drive on the most stunning beautiful scenic drive…through “The Pass” it is highly recommended. Yukon’s largest lake, Kluane Lake, is 52 km N.W. and is spectacular with endless natural clay sand silt and driftwood beaches. Mountain bike/hike through the Alsek Valley, 11 km NW, and visit Thunderegg Creek…you’ll think you are in Egypt…drive 30 min to Kathleen Lake, 40 to Million Dollar Falls and 5 mins further to the Tatashini Expediting (pre-book for whitewater rafting). Another gem is Kusawa Lake we call the “Cancun of the North” due to the oddity of the fine near-white sand beach stretches from volcanic times… Locally there’s a beach called Pine Lake less than 4 km NE. There’s a lot to see…Do your research and plan accordingly. I’ll host whenever I can but I may be on my own adventures during bookings, if so you’ll be given a code for a key lock box for access to the house. Price is set low for cleaning fees only, basically, (Hipcamp doesn’t allow $0) so I put 10 dollars and 20 for cleaning, and gratuities are always welcomed and a perfect “thank you” to your host in lieu of a higher price per stay. It’s best to contact me directly for arrangements and further info. kellyinhj@gmail.com or text 867-634-5161 I love meeting people from all over the world and it’s my pleasure to make your trip super fun and memorable. Have a GREAT summer !!
