Kootenay Born Campsite is on ten acres of fenced in property, with spectacular mountain views. We are located on the west side of the Arrow Lakes and are accessed by a free shuttle ferry service. A short stroll from our property is Arrow lake and we are surrounded by hiking, biking and ATV trails waiting to be explored. A few miles down the road is Saddle mountain hiking trail, a challenging hike with breathtaking views all the way up. At the top of Saddle Mountain is a look out building with 360 panoramic views that is free to use and has been recently updated. A short walk from the camp site, through old growth cedar groves and orchard will lead you to Arrow Lake where you can enjoy all types of water activities or take a walk to explore many of the areas private beaches. We have kayaks and a SUP board for our guest to enjoy. Please come and enjoy our beautiful wilderness. It's a whole other world over here.....

Mountain views Tiny House

We really enjoyed our stay at John and Michelle’s campground. We stayed in the new tiny home. It came with everything we needed for an overnight stay and we enjoyed the beautiful views. Great place to stay!

#6 Shady Rock Campsite

Everything was absolutely amazing! Michelle was so helpful and the best host. The views and beach are spectacular. The kitchen, outhouse and shower house were all very well kept. And the site itself (shady rock) was just wonderful. We loved every minute of our stay and will be making a yearly trip to stay at Kootenay Born. I truly cannot say enough good things about this place.

Will be back!

John and Michelle were great hosts! Lots to do around the beautiful area they have a round them, great place to unwind and feel right in the thick of nature but at a very safe area! If you need any help John and Michelle will make you feel at ease! Quick ferry and you can be on your way to nakusp and back! Highly recommend if needing a good restart !

Kootenay Born RV Site

Kootenay Born is an really lovely campground! Michelle and John did an incredible job setting up this campground and making a really inviting communal space for all campers. The group cooking area is fantastic, and they have some fun games as well as kayaks available down a beautiful woodland path a short distance from the campsites. They were super accommodating for us as well, providing a nice shaded spot for our camper trailer to be parked for the week while we worked nearby. They also have a very friendly dog, Boss... Big additional perks :) Thanks for the experience John and Michelle, we hope to return next year!
