Our property is located in Sooke, a small town on the west coast of Vancouver Island. There are beautiful big trees in the front and back of the property which attracts all type of wildlife including deer, rabbits, eagles, and ravens. We live in a beautiful red log house/cabin nestled in the trees. The middle of the property consists of a market garden with all sorts of veggies, fruits, herbs and flowers. Very central location, close to many beaches, rivers and Kemp lake, and only a 5 minute drive from Sooke town. If you use public transportation, we are 10 minutes away from a BC Transit bus station that connects you to route 61 (Langford exchange) and route 50 (downtown Victoria).Welcome to our Westcoast homestead. We invite you to pitch your tent between our hobby farm and little forest at the back of our property. You’ll have access to a picnic table, an outdoor wash up area with a sink and potable water, a compostable bathroom and a fire pit. The bathroom consists of a dry toilet (we provide instructions on how to use it), a sink with running water but no shower. If you plan to bring your pet, please let us know beforehand as we have a dog and cat and need to make sure they’ll get along. Also worth mentioning we spend time working on the garden especially on the weekend, but we are always respectful of your privacy! If you’re a young family, we have a great set up for young children including a play structure, swing and trampoline that we also use for our one and a half year old baby :)

Great spot!

We had a great time camping at Jessica and Diego's. They were great hosts, with just the right amount of friendly interaction and yet we felt like we had our own private site. The property is lovely with their huge garden and forested area, and well set up with picnic table, fire pit, and wash stand. The only thing that might not be for everyone is the dry toilet system, but they did give us a heads up about that so we expected it. The location was very convenient and great for exploring Sooke and the Juan de Fuca area. We had a great time and would definitely return.

I had a wonderful time camping in Diego‘s and Jessica‘s garden and really enjoyed the little chats and helpful tips for hikes in Juan de Fuca national Park!

Jess & Diego are an awesome couple, working hard to make wise environmental choices. This includes an outside composting toilet. Facilities like a wash station for dishes, and another for the toilet are definitely a plus. As time goes on I'm sure it will only get nicer.

Enjoyed the campsite

I would honestly recommend the campsite for both beginners and experienced ones. Jessica and Diego were really helpful and assisted in every possible way.
