Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
The property sits along a well maintained lazy road, There is a driveway and a cleared area for parking an RV. Directly across the road about 100 meters away from the trailer is a public sand beach. Set up shop on the beautiful sand then meander down the beach and hunt for beach glass and some other treasures that have washed ashore. The view is amazing and the water is welcoming, 7 minutes from the little local grocery store and Gas bar (and home of the best apple fritter you've ever had) 15 minutes from Pancake Pay Provincial Park 45 minutes from Sault Ste. MarieTHIS SITE IS PERFECT FOR SOMEONE LOOKING TO PARK THEIR TRAILER FOR THE NIGHT BUT IT IS VERY RUSTIC. Beach view with public and pretty much private access right across the quiet Road. Bring your bikes/Scooters or skateboards and enjoy checking out the cute little locally run stores along highway 563. If you have a watercraft definitely bring it and Kayak or Canoe the quiet waters of Batchawana Bay. Things aren't to busy around here but you are close to the hustle and the major attractions if you choose. Hike Lake Superior provincial park, explore the waterfalls and fall in love with the drive between Batchawana and Wawa . Hands down the most scenic tour in Ontario .

Batchawana Sand Beach Paradise
Not a beach paradise
This is not a beach paradise. Unfortunately, I booked without reading the other reviews/seeing their photos I was SO excited to have a beach campsite, this was absolutely beyond disappointing to arrive to. It is not on a beach, it is across the road from the water. The "beach" was barely even a few meters long from road to water. Even having a lakefront site would of been nice without actually being on the beach, however there's a huge old ugly trailer blocking the entire site and your view of the water! Unless you camp right on the drive way, you are not going to get any water front views. Just an old trailer The listing when I first booked included a toilet to use, which was one of the reasons why I picked this site. Unfortunately they removed this after I booked and they did not notify me. We arrived late in the evening and by that time all local public bathrooms were shut. This was very very frustrating Overall, was far from happy. The only saving grace is I will say that the host was VERY kind and quick with her communication. She refunded me my money, which I appreciated. I would strongly suggest renaming this listing and providing a more accurate description. Or remove the old trailer blocking the view so that it's more honest. The site itself was fine, just very misleading. I would not of booked it if I had of known what it was accurately.

Tent camped for two nights to explore the area. Close to convenience stores and feet from the sandy beach which is 3-4’ feet for a long ways. Neighbor dogs bark during the day and I’d recommend bringing dog treats. I’d stay here again.

The site was exactly as described in the listing, and delivered on exactly what i was looking for: a scenic, quiet and peaceful spot as an alternative to the campgrounds right on Hwy17.

The view of the lake is spectacular! So close to the water. The weeds were a bit high to get the vehicle in, which was the only downside. The apple fritters were amazing as recommended!

Great location. Mere steps away from the beach and Lake Superior. The listing is the same price as surrounding listings but doesn’t have a washroom, so that was the biggest downside for me. Thanks for hosting.
