Welcome to Three Pines Retreat! We are so happy to be hosting you. Your campsite is high and dry, easy to access by car and has ample parking. The terrain is pink granite with soft spots for a tent or solid ground to park your trailer (sorry no hook ups or liquid waste removal). There's a picnic table, firewood and private toilet included. Whether you prefer to be in sun or shade, both are available at this site. As much as we are sheltered from the County road, traffic can be heard at times. There is so much to enjoy at our location... Jump on your favourite floatie and float your troubles away down the lazy river located just a short walk across the road at Kawartha Highlands Signature Park. If kayaking and canoeing are more your thing, you will be in awe of the beautiful scenery as you paddle along. This breathtaking park also offers self-guided tours of its history and landscape. Three Pines Retreat is surrounded by lakes and trails and is only 3 km from the picturesque town of Buckhorn. Forget something or feel like dining out? Buckhorn hosts an LCBO, grocery stores and restaurants overlooking the locks. Pizza Alloro will lure you in for a delectable slice and Main St. Bar and Grill offers delicious fare and live entertainment. If you know anything about Kawartha Dairy ice cream you will be sure to stop at Buckhorn Ice Cream Parlour for a tasty treat. Three Pines is just a 2 minute drive to Kawartha Winery and Belly's restaurant. The winery offers free tastings of its wonderful fruit wines and ciders and at certain times of the year they offer delicious wood-fired pizza. Belly's is known for it's creative casual dining and live entertainment and is located in the heart of Catalina Bay. Thank you for checking out Three Pines Retreat - your home away from home where you can forget all your troubles, rest and relax. We look forward to meeting you.Gathering Place offers open air and sunlight with a place to find shade and lots of room to host guests at a campfire. Perfect little getaway! Peaceful spot surrounded by nature. Easy walk to go tubing down the river across the street. Chad and Stephanie were excellent hosts.

The campsite was lovely! There was a lot of firewood to use, and lots of room to set up a run for our pup. The Johnny on the Spot was unexpected but welcome lol Everything was clean and Chad checked in with us as soon as he was on the property. He messaged beforehand to tell us to make ourselves at home in the meantime. He was very friendly and told us to let him know if we needed absolutely anything, otherwise he would give us our privacy. Overall this was a lovely trip and we will definitely consider it again next year! 😊

We had a lovely time staying with Chad in Buckhorn. The fire pit was well situated on a large granite area, there were fireflies at dusk and the camp is right by the highway, making it easy to come and go and enjoy exploring the area. Chad and his partner were extremely helpful, even rescuing us when we bottomed out on a rock in our tiny Yaris. Thank you for everything!

Great site
Me and my friends had a good time camping at Chad’s site. We had bad weather but he was very accommodating and gave us a tabletop bbq to use. Even though it was raining, it wasn’t too bad because we just went out the a-frame to stay dry. The lazy river being right across the street was so convenient and going down the river was the best part of our trip. Chad even blew up some floaties for us to use :)

Gathering Place was amazing. Our hosts were great. The site was more we expected. Lots of fire wood and the outhouse was very clean. There is so much to explore. We wish we could have stayed longer. Being allowed to run the generator at 5 am without any complaints was an extra bonus. The river is close by and if you have the time take the slow trip down the river on a tube. We will definitely be back. Thanks to our wonderful host. Cheers Joel

Chad is the best host we've ever had! He was so considerate, kind and helpful, reassuring us that he was there for any of our needs. He offered water floaties for the lazy river, a very clean toilet system, firewood with buckets of emergency water and a camping stove. He was willing to get a fire started for us if we arrived after dark. The lazy river and hiking trail was right across the road, a huge highlight to our trip! Foodland was less than a 10 minute drive away. The campsite was clean, quiet and was very private. Barely any noise came from the highway. The Outhouse was exceptionally clean and had a pump flush & hand wash station! Overall, we had an amazing time and felt at home right when we arrived. We can't wait to return. We will always recommend this beautiful property!
