Overview

About

Embark on a journey to Catala Island Marine Provincial Park, where the untamed wilderness meets the vast expanse of the sea. Here, adventurers can immerse themselves in activities that harness the raw power of nature—kayaking through serene waters, wildlife watching that brings you face-to-face with the park's diverse inhabitants, and coastal hiking trails that offer stunning vistas at every turn. Although the park does not boast campgrounds, the spirit of adventure is alive and well in the day-use areas that welcome explorers from dawn till dusk.

When to go

The ideal time to visit Catala Island Marine Provincial Park is during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is most favourable for outdoor activities. Conversely, the winter season can be harsh, with strong winds and high waves, making it less suitable for visits, especially for those looking to engage in water-based exploration.

Know before you go

  • Check weather conditions before your trip, as the park is subject to sudden changes that could impact your plans.
  • Be aware of tide schedules to ensure safe and enjoyable water activities.
  • Prepare for a remote experience, as the park offers limited facilities and no camping options.
  • Respect wildlife habitats by observing from a distance and following park guidelines.
  • Carry out all trash, as the park operates on a 'leave no trace' principle to preserve its natural beauty.
