Description

Are you looking for a solid base camp for exploring the area in and around Bryce Canyon National Park? King Creek is the spot for you, then! It’s an easy nine miles west of the park, so you and your crew can adventure close to “home" or set out further afield for the day. To get a taste of the gorgeous hoodoo rock formations this area is so well known for, check out King Creek Trail and Chimney Rock Trail. Hop on the trails from inside the campground and take in the awesome landscape, which includes those hoodoos we keep mentioning as well as the lovely Tropic Reservoir. Speaking of the reservoir, the campground is right next to the water, and it’s also adjacent to the East Fork of the Sevier River. Don't forget your swimsuit!

We loved our time at King Creek Campground in Dixie National Forest! The campground is a short drive from Bryce Canyon National Park without any of the crowds. It was the perfect base camp for all of our adventures.

We stayed at King Creek for 3 days (Tuesday - Thursday) in early June. The campground is first come, first serve and we had plenty of campsites to choose from. Our campsite was spacious and included a water spigot, picnic table, and fire ring. There are communal bathrooms that are minimal, but clean.

The campground has easy access to trails and dirt roads within Dixie National Forest. There's also access to Tropic Reservoir, which is a small lake. You can go hiking, mountain biking, ATV riding, fishing, swimming and boating.
