Esther is so very understanding...
We were so very excited to stay by the river on Esther's land. We had stopped by on our way to Matanuska Glacier, but unfortunately we had car troubles which caused us to have to turn back to Anchorage so we were not able to stay. Esther was so very understanding and gracious about our cancelling last minute. She even offered to refund the part of what we paid that was not due to HipCamp. That is pretty cool, since she didn't need to do that. The land looked great and we would definitely stay there when we return to Alaska!

Amazing secluded view
I loved camping here, if I could give it 10 Stars I would! The directions to the camp site were clear and the views from the river were absolutely gorgeous! The first 2 camp sites are close to each other sharing a view of the raging river, and the other sites are more secluded but still beautiful! The outhouse was the cleanest outhouse I've ever seen, stocked with TP, hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, etc. Great views of the mountains and nearby eagles flying by. This site is great for boondock campers looking to get a private slice of Alaskan heaven for the night; at a great price, and avoid the loud, busy public camp grounds.

We stayed at 1 Wolverine. It was an amazing place. Right on the river and not a far walk to the outhouse. This location did not disappoint. Beautiful views!

4 Brown Bears
Enjoyed camping at this spot: level ground for the tent, gorgeous surroundings, and not an overcrowded campground. Walking around the grounds we agreed that sites 3, 4, & 5 offered best views. Toilet was clean - also had motion-censored solar lighting inside during evening hours. Yeah, we heard the road but was able to drown out with music - traffic died down considerably toward nighttime. If car/tent camping, suggest bringing a table or two, there are no picnic tables.
