Located at the southern foothills of the Ouachita Mountains and the northwestern edge of Lake Greeson, this 6 acre plot of land is part of a gentle hillside that descends into the lake.  Enjoy two trails to Lake Greeson and easily access nearby boat launches, public beaches, parks, and much more!  Come make yourself at home on Bluegill Hill and enjoy the small lake village lifestyle!Deer Hunting Season: Sept.-Dec. 28th. **Wear appropriate orange or bright colored attire while hiking on public land** (A hat or cap is sufficient) Enjoy seclusion in a forested nook at the bottom of Bluegill Hill, at Lake Greeson in SW Arkansas.  Fox Nook is a primitive campsite that offers total privacy and lots of shade within a young forest of mostly oak and pine trees.  There's plenty of space that comes with booking a stay at Fox Nook, so that offers you a few choices on where to set up. All of the following are part of your booking, so choose one or all! Fox Nook is the main attraction, has small yard table, bbq pit, and fire ring. However, there is also a tiny spot just uphill to Fox Nook with leveled ground that will accommodate a small tent. Then there is the small ridge area about 20 yards above Fox Nook. It's part of the road in and is a loop, so it's great for trailers over 12' or any larger setup than what can fit in Fox Nook. So yeah, plenty of options for you, all part of your booking! It's a perfect part of Bluegill Hill to accommodate a campsite and I think you're going to love it! There are two hiking trails that lead to the lake and both require only a few minutes of walking.  Kitty Cove trail is the shortest walk, about 2 or 3 minutes, and leads to a secluded cove with two islands.  Bennett Cove trail takes about 4 minutes to walk and joins into a road from a small neighborhood of vacation cabins (and very few full-time residents), so it is possible that this area might have a few friendly folks enjoying the lake.  It is a great area to swim and sunbathe on the shale shoreline. After a short distance on these trails, you will be leaving Bluegill Hill's private property and entering public land that surrounds the lake.  A large buffer of land along shoreline, and the lake, is overseen by the Army Corps of Engineers.  It's all open to the public, but this area of the lake sees very little traffic and remains a hidden gem.      At dawn, nature wakes up and the songbirds sing, occasionally crows visit, and I also have chickens at the top of the hill.  The roosters have a powerful voice but the ridge above the campsite and the trees do a great job of deflecting and muffling the sound.  The most unnatural sound will be from the occasional semi-truck traveling along the highway.  It's a small highway, not a main thoroughfare, and they rarely transport on weekends.  All areas along the northern edge of Lake Greeson are close to the highway, luckily Fox Nook is one that is tucked pretty well into the forest but it's not immune to the sound of the occasional weekday semi-truck.  By 10 a.m. the breeze picks up from the south and helps push back any highway noise. *My canoe is NOT avsilable* *My outdoor chairs are temporarily unavailable* *Price for firewood is based on what you think is fair, how much you use, and/or can afford. Suggested minimim price $5/bundle. Further info is available at campsite, such as Venmo and Paypal, as well as a small box for cash.* Booking price already includes all applicable taxes for state sales and local tourism.  Thank you for visiting Arkansas, the Natural State!

First Time Visitors
We really enjoyed Fox Run. Kitty Cove trail down to the lake was a short walk that our older parents made with ease. The site easily accommodated our wrangler, and overland trailer, alone with tents and a Tundra. We loved the shade, and didn't even set up our canopy. We'd love to come back someday.

The site felt very safe and secluded. Charles is a great host, very friendly and helpful. He let me borrow a hat because I forgot to bring orange for hunting season. The site is an easy walk to the lake and had plenty of places to make camp. I had a fantastic trip with beautiful weather and driving through the mountains in the fall was absolutely beautiful.

Awesome Spot!
If you are into primitive car camping and being the only ones around, just do it. We had a great stay and Charles was great. Bring water shoes. You'll want to get into the lake!

Fox Nook Trip
We drove up from Texas did the talimena scenic drive amazing views all the way threw goes from Oklahoma up threw Arkansas. Camp site is secluded you do hear some traffic from the hwy but isn't bad. Can see lots of stars threw the open canopy above the tent site. If needing fishing worms or a hot meal turn right out of the driveway and the gas station down the road on the left has the good fishing worms and a grill/deli inside. General store little farther same direction has some odd and ends camping supplies, food things, stuff along those lines. Driving distance from many state parks to do a day trip if wanted to. We dove over to Crooked creek did some hiking in the woods there found lots of natural quarts laying around also down the dirt road from there is little Missouri falls the dirt road will take you all the way through the national forest and its a gorgeous drive very narrow road tho. 30 min drive to Crater of diamonds state park where you can dig for diamonds and keep what you find. Bennet cove is alot deeper has full access to the river only fished kitty cove caught lots of blue cats and large mouth at kitty cove between 1-4lbs. Highly recommended watching the sun set from kitty cove we cooked dinner lake side on the colman watching the sun set while fishing was the perfect evening (we brought a wagon to haul back and fourth). If wanting your own private space but still driving distance from many things perfect place was a much needed and enjoyed weekend.

Fox Nook
We had the best time at Fox Nook! This was our second stay here, and we definitely plan on coming back. Charles is an exceptional host. He was kind and communicative throughout our whole stay, making sure we had everything we needed! He chopped up some extra firewood for us when we were low. We had the pleasure of chatting with him on our way out, and enjoyed listening to his stories, travels, and journey living on this land. The site is beautiful, tucked away under tall pine trees. We woke up to the sound of birds chirping and roosters crowing, and at night we were able to hear barred and great horned owls calling. The lake, which is a very short walk away, is serene and secluded. It’s great for taking a dip, and watching the sunset! It’s a really special place, thank you Charles for sharing your land with us!
