This 10 acre property is located on the coastal ridge, often above the fog. You will be on the Pacific plate looking across to the North American plate, looking down on the San Andreas fault! Near artsy, coastal towns. Wonderful location for relaxing after a day of hiking and exploring beaches and forests.. In the winter months, it can provide a peaceful retreat and often dramatic storm watching. Peaceful, security-gated property with a campsite for RV's/tent camping for maximum of 6, and the charming Pickle Barrel cabin for 2 is available. You can book either one or both. Either way, you will have the entire site for your stay. Outside wood campfires are allowed seasonally, but unless there is a fire ban, propane fire pits are allowed year round. Hot showers are available 15 minutes away with purchase of a day pass and quarters. The owners and their dog live on site about 50 yards away. You may see us doing our walks. Centrally located. 10 minutes from beaches, rivers, state parks, Stornetta Lands National Monument, and towns, i.e., Gualala, Point Arena, or Anchor Bay.

Pickle Barrel Campsite

The campsite up in the trees at the top of the canyon was beautifully maintained and a thoughtful blend of wild yet comfortable camping with potable water and a composting toilet. Gena is very hospitable and I'm looking forward to staying there again - either in my roof top tent or maybe next time in the charming Pickle Barrel cabin, complete with a pot belly for the colder nights. Really good spot!

Pickle Barrel Campsite

Camping with kid and 2 dogs

We had a great weekend at the Pickle barrel campsite. The site has plenty of shade and privacy even with owner’s house up the hill a bit. The dogs were allowed off leash and we had plenty of great trees to hang 3 hammocks. We didn’t need the little cabin but it looked charming from the outside. Only 10 minutes from the coast. Would recommend and camp here again.

Tent camping on G’s land was awesome. The directions were very clear and the property is beautiful. Slept well. The wind in the trees at night created a very peaceful atmosphere. We would definitely come back.

The Pickle Barrel Cabin

Absolutely precious and close enough to town to make a quick trip for supplies. Bring bedding and a cooler and you will be good to go.

The Pickle Barrel Cabin

The Pickle Barrel Cabin is incredible!! I’m used to more “rugged” tent camping, and this was such a welcome and more relaxing experience. The site and cabin are well-maintained, and they recently added an outdoor fire pit. I also really enjoyed exploring the nearby Point Arena beaches/trails and lighthouse. I would definitely stay here again!
