This park is actually quite large: 8,000 miles, to be exact. The same thing that makes it an awesome place to visit can also make seeing it in its entirety a little bit tricky. To really get a feel for the park, we recommend checking out some of these biking routes. Some are a little bit long-ish, but we know when the sky is clear, the breeze is up and you’ve got a good breakfast in your stomach, you will be more than up to it.
You know that anytime a park has “wilderness” in the name, there is great hiking and exploration to be had. So, which wins the “best hike” category? Some think that this trail, which is slightly off the beaten path but gives a true taste of the landscape, deserves to win. Others believe that the hot springs trail is clearly the champion. We are big fans of getting out there and deciding for yourself. Let us know what you find!
Sun rises over the crest of a hill, and the air, cool and crisp, begins to warm in the early morning light. Your horse whinnies gently, ready to get going, as a day of exploration and beautiful, untouched wilderness stretches golden in front of you. Horses and their human companions are more than welcome to come stay at Casper’s Wilderness, which offers up several equestrian paths and an equestrian campground. Check out the trails here, which are great way to see the many wild animals who call the park home.
There are tons of opportunities to see some truly diverse wildlife here, as befits a park named Casper Wilderness. Some of the local residents include deer, rabbits, squirrels, bobcats, coyotes, mountain lions and rattlesnakes. Let us know what you see!
