The property has had various garden areas added over the years and is a great place to relax and meditate. Proceeds from Hipcamp go toward supporting garden upkeep and operations. Learn more about this land: The fenced-in site is in a well lived in, low-income, busy neighborhood of New Iberia. The hosts live in the small brick cottage in front. The property is surrounded by gardens for guests to enjoy. There is a 15AMP regular outlet to plug into and a nearby water hose for travelers to use.

Whatever it is that you need we are here to help you get what you want. We live on the Atchafalaya River Hwy. and our location is only 3.5 miles from I10 at Butte LaRose exit 121. Butte LaRose is located in the heart of Acadiana and in the heart of the Atchafalaya Basin, which is true cajun country. Hunting and fishing is the way of life, here. The Atchafalaya Basin is the nations largest river swamp containing almost one million acres of America's most significant bottom land hardwood swamps, bayous and backwater lakes. Many hummingbirds visit here every year. They arrive approximately mid March and leave mid October. There are also many festivals in a close range or take a swamp tour to see the alligators. Check out Turtles bar and restaurant on the levy or The Butte bar 1 mile away. Our Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival and Lafayette's Festival International are famous and near by. In Acadiana there are so many festivals, too many festivals to mention. Enjoy some good food like boudin, cracklings or crawfish. Local Attractions include McGee's Louisiana Swamp Tours, Atchafalaya Basin Landing Swamp Tours, Turtles Bar on the Levee, The Butte Bar, Pat's Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant and the Atchafalaya Club (cajun bands and dancing), Crawfish Town USA Restaurant, Louisiana Marketshops at the 115 (arts, crafts and gifts) and more. Our site is about 8 mins from Cankton and 20 mins from Lafayette. So there is a place to stop in to get water and not really necessary but more wood . We do supply Water if you need it, and can set up a shower if you request it.

Our location is just minutes away from downtown Abbeville, where you can savor authentic Cajun fresh seafood at various restaurants and immerse yourself in frequent local festivals. We're also conveniently located 30 minutes from Lafayette, 16 minutes from Palmetto Island State Park, and just an hour away from great crabbing and fishing at Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge. The park was beautiful and, as most Louisiana parks do, offers free laundry. The night got exciting when we saw an ARMADILLO! (Not something New Jersey locals are used to seeing every day!)

Awesome primitive camping at the backpacking sights! We loved the setting and the abundant wildlife, not to mention the friendly staff. Definitely recommended for campers looking for a little adventure along with their fresh air.
