Head out from camp on the North Country Trail, past shipwreck remnants before discovering the AuSable Light Station perched above Lake Superior. There’s generator free areas for those who like things on the quiet side and a picnic area close by to get your grub on. Hurricane River will make you feel like a real discoverer, eye patch optional.

Hello, and welcome to Superior Times Resort and Campground! We would like to take a moment and introduce ourselves. Our names are Tom and Heather Holmstrom. We were married in 2016 and have four children as part of our blended family. We are both originally from the Upper Peninsula. Superior Times Resort and Campground was the result of us wanting to do something “outside of the box” that would allow us to raise our family and show them there is more out there than the traditional path. We also wanted showcase our love and respect for the beauty of the Upper Peninsula; the area that many refer to as “God’s Country.” In December of 2016, we mistakenly pulled into the driveway of this property. At that time, it was known as Coleman’s Paradise Resort. There was a For Sale sign marking the property. We both knew at that point our fate was sealed to become this property’s new owners. We learned that this property had been a family vacation destination for nearly 100 years. We could only imagine the special memories that had been made here over the years! We wanted to become a part of that deep history. Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. In April of 2017, we opened what we named Superior Times Resort and Campground. We pulled up or sleeves and went to work! Thank you for choosing us and allowing us to be part of the memories that you create here. We know that you work hard for your own money, as we do. Knowing that you chose our resort to support, means a lot to our Superior Times and Resort family team. We truly appreciate your loyalty and give special thanks to our returning customers. All sites have their own private entrances, you can’t see any sites or buildings, they are very spaced-out. This location is situated PERFECTLY central to the major UP attractions Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls and Kitchittikippi. And there’s even a convenience store within walking distance! Lake Superior is just a few minutes away. The camping area is truly for the hardy soul and nature lover. I will supply plenty of information about the area and things to do. Just message me if you have any questions. The camping site does not have an address. I will meet campers in the village of 'Deerton' which is only a few minutes from the camping area. You must arrive by 7:00 PM due to the location! I would like to add that June can be a bad month for bugs depending on the weather so I offer the JUNE SPECIAL: FREE FIREWOOD! Late summer and fall are beautiful times to camp in the UP. Any questions just ask. Due to this location only tent camping please! Motor homes do not work. Thank you.

The property is Surrounded by ATV, side by side and snowmobile trails. I am slowly building this property into a campground style property that will allow memories to be made for families from all over. Even though the listing shows only a few sites just ask. There is plenty of room for tent camping for everyone. it has a communal fire pit and plenty of wood laying around for a fire. i also have a nice 5th wheel camper on site i rent through another site. There is power and water available for use but not at any specific sites. Any questions just ask i’m sure i can accommodate you.

Camp #14 at Twelvemile. I made this solo trip to Pictured Rocks in early July of 2015. Upon arrival, biting flies attacked and I was greeted with a downpour. It's easy to see these things as just part of the adventure when your surroundings are this beautiful!
