Hike on! Bike on! Hackberry Hollow Campground is nestled in the perfect little nook overlooking Bonham State Park Lake from which you can embark on any or all of the adventures. While sites 15-21 are exclusively reserved for tent folk, all sites provide a picnic table, water/electric hook-up, nearby restrooms, and of course--a great view of the lake. Swim on!

Biking

All trails within Bonham State Park are accessible for biking unless indicated. There are four trails available ranging from 1.3 miles to 2.7 miles. The trails are best suited for a mountain bike due to rougher terrain.

Boating

The man-made lake built in Bonham State Park does allow boating, but has a speed limit of 5 mph.

Fishing

There is a fishing pier available on the lake for best fish access.

Hiking

With over seven miles of hilly hiking trails, Bonham State Park is a great spot to getaway. There’s something for everyone here, from historic picnic spots to prime lake access. Journey through dense, shaded forests and wide-open prairies, and find your new favorite spot.

Paddling

Paddle boats and canoes are available to rent from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, weather permitting.

Swimming

Swimming is permitted in Bonham lake, but there are no lifeguards on duty so please swim safe!

Wildlife watching

The wildlife in Bonham State Park is limited because of the relatively small size of the park. But the lake shoreline provides habitats for beaver, raccoon, opossum and a number of visiting songbirds. Although a few woodland birds are permanent residents, visitor and migrant species outnumber the residents. With the various ecosystems within the park, there are numerous trees, wildflowers and shrubs that cover the beautiful land for an awesome getaway.
