Not only are there beautiful views and interpretive signage to get the wheels of your brain moving, but Bald Mountain Campground is also located along the Medicine Wheel Passage Scenic Byway, and the National Historic Landmark is nearby at four miles away. This unique geoglyph signifies all creation, all races of people, birds, fish, animals, trees and stones. According to tribal beliefs, the circular shape of the wheel represents the earth, sun, moon, cycles of life, seasons and day to night. If it’s gold you’re looking for in these hills, hike through the open meadows and along the cliffs to explore the area’s historic mining sites. High Country Lodge is nearby, offering guided horseback riding and backcountry pack trips, off-road vehicle rentals and guided fishing trips.

Enjoy your stay in Sheridan area with lots of dining and recreation activities within 20 minutes of the RV site. This is a rural setting with sweeping views and solitude located up 2.3 miles of well maintained gravel road.. There is no pavement, you may get your rig dusty. The pad is gravel, this is not the KOA... The pad is 48 ft. Gravel and within grade yet may require you to level your camper with blocks or jack.. We do have native wildlife and no they are not all harmless  or pets.... We look forward to sharing our home with you...

Camp at the Rafter JB

We have been blessed with this beautiful property and want to share it with others. We have been operating an Airbnb out of the old barn for 5 years now. The barn was the old feed store in Cody and was moved to this property. Buffalo Bill supposedly bought feed from the store. Lovell is known as the Rose Capitol of Wyoming with the climate being perfect for growing roses. The Pryor Mountain Wild Mustangs are just minutes from our place and we almost always see them out there. Starting summer of 2025 we are excited to be partnering with Tangle Ridge Outfitters out of Greybull Wyoming to offer horse trail rides. Ask for how to contact them to schedule your ride. Cody, only 50 miles to the west is a town loaded with history of the old west and features Cody Nite Rodeo every night of the summer from June 1 through August 30 as well as numerous museums and other attractions. Buffalo Bill Museum of the West will keep you busy for a couple of days if you are a museum buff. Just about everyday in the summer, you are likely to see a gunfight on the street in front of the historic Irma Hotel. There is also Old Trail Town, a recreated old west town. Further to the west just 90 miles from here is the East gate of Yellowstone open from the end of May until first of November. Thermopolis with their giant hot springs is just about 100 miles to the south of us. The Bighorn National Recreation is just minutes from Lovell featuring the 3rd Longest Canyon in the United States with breathtaking views of the Reservoir from Devil's Overlook. Further to the east are the Bighorn Mountains where you can frequently see moose, elk, deer and other wildlife. At the Rafter JB you will be the only trailer here, you will enjoy a large landscaped outdoor space which is shared with an Airbnb rental, but there is plenty of room for privacy. You will be away from the main road and can enjoy the pond, fire pit, bbq grill as well as the resident horses.

We are located and what is referred to as the hub of the big horn basin. We have lots of activities within a 60 mile radius of our campground. Including dinosaur museums, history museums. Buffalo Bill Cody museum large ATV open ride areas. We are close to the big horn river for kayaking or canoeing. The Big Horn Mountains are close by and there are lots of outdoor activities in the area.
